well that would strongly indicate it is a leak, not a case of running rich. you should have your fuel system pressure tested. if that does not work, buy some uv dye marker to put in the fuel and a black light flashlight. you should be able to find the problem.

they are standard on a 208. i just finished inquiring with grady and they are the only pieces grady makes like that. unfortunately they are available but not long enough to fit your 223 (or my 223!).

do you mean new four strokes, or used hpdi motors? if you do mean hpdi, there were lots of issues with the 300 hpdi so you will want to do some research.

my understanding is you mount downriggers as far astern as you can to minimize the risk of fouling the prop.

the slope doesn't help assess it visually. looks too long and trailer tongue looks too short, plus the axles look overburdened. tongue weight might tell a different tale i guess. i have seen bracket boats that hang out further off the stern.

yeah, i think a 226 is my best bet for a match. the 223 was discontinued in the 90s in favour of the 225 but i recall they kept building slotted transom seafarers for a long time. actually, looking at it i will bet the "part" is for the two pieces, since they are mirror images.
