Ram mount is the way to go unless the graph needs to be low. Make a spacer to bring the cables thru under the mount. Looks clean and you have adjustment. They hold solid if you buy the right size. I had two 9" screens mounted on one for years.

Fix the rope problem but yes there are ways to slow the motor down. A PWM for example.

Just a poor guy's two cents as I couldn't afford a 285 to begin with, but those Evinrudes would be a non starter for me. If you don't love the boat to begin with then don't throw good money after bad. Cut your losses and buy what you really want.

The filters and bulbs are after the tank distribution block. It runs fine on the aux, so they aren't the issue. Is the main overfull? I'd fire it up on the aux, then roll the valves to the main with fuel cap off and let it idle. My bet is its airlocked. I'd mention other stuff first but its...

I've had good luck with 2 smokers. Here's what I'd do. Loose order. I work on my own stuff so I tend to spend more time troubleshooting/cleaning before throwing parts at it. With the motor warmed up set the idle somewhere close to 900 RPM in the driveway on muffs. It will idle 150-200 RPM...

Little progress on the dash and side panels. I may end up ordering some stuff to build a new switch panel. All of these work, but those backlit etched switches would sure look nice.

I'll never own another roller trailer. They do have some advantages, but I got tired of having roller issues.

They're not supported at all. I'm going to make some backing plates. Ideally I'd like to weld those backing plates to the frame, but would probably invole pulling the hardtop and wiring out. Takes a good bit of heat to tig those.
