    stereo upgrade on 2008 marlin

As said above, the cockpit speakers are under the gunnel, facing down to the deck. I found there was no need to add an amp using the Fusion stereo. You may also want to consider upgrading your tv and dvd. Mine were not hd compatible nor hd over the air ready. I pulled out the old tv and dvd...

    stereo upgrade on 2008 marlin

I just did an upgrade on my stereo system. I replaced the stereo with a Fusion 600 ipod stereo. It is an incredible system. I also installed a remote on the dash. I replaced the two helm speakers with two Fusion speakers. I then installed two poly planar box speakers in the cockpit under the...

    Simpson Laurence windless

Yes. On older models it was a yellow/orange hard plastic wrench. On new models it is a metal wrench. You might want to contact them. their tech reps are pretty good.

    salt water leak

Another update. After testing and searching I finally found that a flashlight was my best friend. I was looking at the inside of the transom and saw a water reflection. I dried it off with a pole wrapped with a towel and let it sit for a couple of hours. Sure enough the water was there. The...

How do I remove cockpit bolsters, etc?

Are you doing the replacement yourself or is someone doing the work. If someone else, do you mind sharing name and price. I am thinking of doing the same job on my Marlin. Thanks.

    Floor Panel Seal

The finger works great with a little water and dish soap. I fill a small cup with water and a squirt of dish soap, wet my finger and slider it on the caulk bead two times -- first with tape down and second to flatten down tape edge. Second time I apply very little pressure.

    Perko Fuel Fills

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. On the orings, I check them each time I fill with gas. I replace them once they show any sign of wear or cracking. then I go around and replace all the fill orings: gas, water and diesel for generator.

    Perko Fuel Fills

What are the differences between the two Perko orings you are getting. I get the first is for the is for the gas caps. But what is the accessory you reference? BTW, I called Perko about getting a replacement part for my mast head light and they did the same thing for me by sending it gratis...

    Battery life

Given that the boat is in the water and I am in So. Fla., I think the smart move is to replace the battery. Now the question is to go AGM or not. I have 2005 225 four strokes and a guest battery charger (also from 2005). Dekka or Optima or some else. Any feed back would be appreciated.

    Battery life

I bought my Marlin 2005 3 years ago. I have not changed the batteries since I took ownership. I do not know but suspect the batteries may be original. Assuming the batteries are at least 3 (and probably at least 4) years old, what is the average battery life. Boat is in water 24/7, has...

    salt water leak

Ok, here is an update. I am providing these reports for a) the useful comments along the way and b) in case someone else encounters a similar problem. First, yes I have a bow thruster but that area has been and continues to be bone dry. Checked forward bilge this a.m. and p.m. and took about...
