calculate the crouch factor for your grady

If you look at the hull factor section, they mention most Whalers are in the 180-200 factor range; the 180 default appears to me to be something just entered for a starting point. When I put a hull factor of 200 on mine, the number is very close.

calculate the crouch factor for your grady

The numbers are about 4-5 mph slow for mine. Is there a hull factor for Grady's listed anywhere?

    Help! New Grady problems

Think I may know the trouble now. Maybe many haven't realized or possibly won't admit it but likely the issue is more about learning how to work the trim tabs. I too had the hard list under power a few times in the 1st year of running my 228 before realizing what caused it, ME. I was simply...

    Help! New Grady problems

Physics. Here's a good article to read for a better understanding of the relationship between hull and engine(s): http://ezinearticles.com/?Understanding-Boat-Prop-Torque&id=3090719 ".....When a single propeller is used to drive a boat there is a torque reaction between the prop and the...

Grady 228/226 Port Seat Foot Rest Ideas

Actually, a single foot rest could go there (bulkhead) without inhibiting the door and could help. I'm 99% certain just moving the seat back either by a slide swivel or permanent mount will be the ultimate answer. I played around with the slide adjust today and there is a nice spot for it to...

Grady 228/226 Port Seat Foot Rest Ideas

If I put a foot rest on the bulkhead, the cabin door will hit it. I took the capt's side seat slider yesterday and installed it on the port side; it seemed to fit well enough so I may pursue that line of thought. Cutting the mount tube lower could easily be done.

Grady 228/226 Port Seat Foot Rest Ideas

If you guys can't tell from my recent posts, I've "finally" gained enough free time to really start detailing comfort items on my 228. She sits next to the house under a recently built carport with all the tools and motivation available to play with. So next up (after the speaker locations...

Bottle cap liner fell into gas tank

Just to understand exactly what it's doing, I would probably take another cap from another bottle exactly the same and drop it in a small gas can where it can be observed. Then you'll know if its floating, sinking and/or deteriorating in the tank to know how to retrieve it if necessary.

BEST RIDING HULL BEYOND 232 SV2 HULL?

Give us a little background on what you're experiencing. The reason I mention this is I used my 228 for over a year before figuring out how to use the tabs to keep the bow in the right spot. It's in the 228 manual page 8-5 how to use them. I've have been very pleased with the ride for the...

First year for F250 on 228??

Doc, not to highjack the thread but do you have a part number and/or model number on that helm seat. I hate to spend the bucks but the ones I have are not the most comfortable.

    Grady 228/226 Speaker Location Ideas??

Dave, I'd considered mounted at the lower space but feared they would be soaked by water coming down the walkway in bad weather. That's a perfect place for the back sound-wise, have you had issues with water hitting them there?

    Grady 228/226 Speaker Location Ideas??

Thanks, I'll start focusing on hanging them there and see where it goes. My stereo is in the upper radio compartment so it should be easy enough to route wires there.

Thanks Guys! Pathery, I've considered that but didn't know if you would be able to hear them at the helm. What was your experience? suzukidave, I considered that too but knew they'd get beat up on a daily basis. Plus get hammered with blasts of saltwater on a regular basis. zimm, which...
