Well I learned long ago what might be low quality junk to you is most likely somebody's dream boat. So I'm not a basher or the hater. I'm lucky to have what I have and thankful I have it. Even though everyone always seems to have a bigger boat than me

Gas Gauge Fixed & GW Factory Tour

Well that was my first tour of a major boat manufactuing factory. Seen some of the local shops but they are nothing like the GW factory. Before I got my old Parker they sent me a VCR (remember them) to watch showing the manuracturing process. That was interesting but the tour was better. They...

Upgrading to Freedom line and looking for advice

Well I have a Freedom 225 which is like a bathtub toy compared to the boats on your short list. But what worked for us was putting 4 adults and 1 baby in the boat to make sure there was enough space to use the boat the way we intended.

GW 193 Holiday needs stringers replaced

More power to you brother. In went on a GW factory tour and saw what my Freedom 225 looks like on the inside with the deck off. WOW....there's a lot of structure in there and it would be beyond my ability to repair or replace.....good luck

Of the saltwater purposed North Carolina fishing boat manufactures there are a whole lot more Grady Whites and Parkers in my area of the Chesapeake Bay than Sea Hunts, Sea Pros and Pro Lines. We have a local guy building under the name of Judge Yachts that makes a popular 27 sport cabin model...

Thanks Doc, there are 2 Sea Hunt Triton 232's at our local marina and I learned from one of the owners they are a family owned NC boat builder and they are a more bang for the buck boat. I was very interested in what you had to say about your experiences. My first boat was an entry level 20' CC...

SeaHunt???? I have a friend with a SeaHunt 24 and there's a few of them at the local marina. They look nice and the bow looks a little like a SeaV2, but they just don't campare. They don't like Boston Whalers on THT either.

Timely, today I took the wife, son, daughter in law and grand baby #1 on a boat ride across the Chesapeake Bay in 15knots of wind, a snotty following sea and cross wind. All you can eat crabs were our destination at a popular crab house. It was bumpy and a bit wet, but we made it there when a...

Oh I've used my Freedom 225 quite a bit and I too had to figure out how to trim the boat for the best ride for the given sea conditions. Took some time but I think I got it figured it out. My old Parker 21 had bigger trim tabs than on GW and was very sdowtive to both the trim/tilt and trim...

Well part of the overpriced junk diatrib is both old & new GW hulls have delamination issues, the wiring is substandard non-marine wire and something else I can't Seem to recall. I forgot to ask about that stuff on my factory tour. I don't know how much of the Hull Truth is the truth and how...

Well Doc S you seem to know your stuff all right. I've been impressed with your informative replys. A hull that cuts the short steep chop in the Chesapeake Bay works for me. It always seems to be snotty conditions whenever I want to use the boat. In the Bay it's not how fast you can go but more...

I took my Freedom 22 out in the Chesapeake Bay snot yesterday and had to battle some big rollers in a following sea to get to our destination and the short steep chop of a head sea on the way back. At the ramp everyone was in agreement I had a pretty boat but bashed me for GW's being overpriced...

Outstanding gentlemen. I studied fluid dynamics in college, but that was more years ago than I want to think about. I'm just very happy with how my 22 tracks

    Boat names

My intended boat name of "Blackheart" was denied by the wife. I was only allowed to name our Freedom 225 "Graybeard," which is my long term name on the TidalFish web site. So I'm feeling ya on the denial, but I'd go for another daughter and girlfriend friendly name or you'll regret it

Trade the Grady for a bay boat?

I fish in the Chesapeake Bay and I have a new Freedom 225. Before that I had a 21' deep vee walk around and before that a 20' modified vee center console. The Parker 23 center console with a 15 degree modified vee hull is a very populay bay style boat in these parts. It handles our short steep...

222 won't track straight at low rpms

I'll tell ya what.....my Freedom 225 tracs way better at no wake speeds or in 6mph speed zones than my old Parker 21 deep vee. It's also less sensitive to people moving around while underway.

Gas Gauge Fixed & GW Factory Tour

We just got back from a 3,000 mile road trip from Annapolis, Md to Key West, FL and back with a stop in Greenville, NC for a GW factory tour. My faulty gas gauge was fixed under warranty while we were away and I picked it up my Freedom 225 from the dealer this morning. The float unit had to be...

    Trim tabs Overnighter.

interesting. I thought the SeaV2 hull had been around a lot longer. I have a 2013 Freedom 225 and I actually think it needs bigger trim tabs than the factory tabs.
