Yamaha makes an electric steering "cylinder" now, im curious if one could retro fit that and utilize yamahas new helmaster autopilot. My guess is you have install the full suite of helmaster to get the AP. Would be cool if they sold a kit with a helm, electric cylinder and a basic AP controller...

After much dithering and indecision my Garmin 1243xsv is ordered Now to find a deal on a GT51 transducer, or possibly a local sale of a Airmar 185HW. Still some indecision there. The real mission will be fitting this thing in my seafarer...Will post pictures once it is sorted.

Seems like most of the side imaging hype works best in shallow water and is marketed toward lake fishing. Especially when it come to the UHD stuff. Furuno has some incredible deep water capability, but i recall there being a patent or something that is holding the rest of the manufacturers back...

Do you find you use the 455 or 260hz when using side vu?? Try to decide if I go for the gt56 or gt51 paired with a airmar chirp set up.

I got the same number measuring the bottom edges, measuring from the top is a slightly smaller dimension. As for the angled bit, it's just under 4" long.

Ill measure tommorow when im at the boat.

You might disappointed with how much space your auxiliary fuel tank is taking up. The water tank is small, fuel tank will likely fill the entire cavity.

I've got a 9.9 susuki on my seafarer and find it's a bit loud but pushes the boat fine. I had a few interesting moments at the mouth of the fraser last September so I switched to the big motor as needed. 9.9 and 15s often weigh nearly the same so that shouldnt be a problem. Yamaha doesn't make...

Leg options are 20,25,30 and 35" long. There is a lot going on here, duo prop, 2 speed gearbox, pod style leg (45 degree turning...? Hoped for more). Definately designed for big boats, would be nice to see some of the tech trickle down to smaller units...and pocket books. Weight can be...

Tempress sells a shallow bucket that fits right inside the opening, could be handy for things you dont want things right in the basement. I should make hatch bigger, i have to force my G5 bumpers through the hole.
