Electric trolling motor installation on 257 Fisherman

I am looking to put a TM on my 236 Fisherman. I called Grady and asked about the mount for the 251 CE, but was told by my dealer that mount would cost $1800. Seriously!!?? Does anyone know where they can get the same mount from for a whole lot cheaper? The single 36V lipo battery would go in...

Fixing my 228, autopilot and power steering question

Everyone i know who has seastar has had to replace seals after a few years. Not a big deal, but eventually the seals will wear. The seals on my uflex never ever had an issue. I had the uflex for at least five years. Sometimes I miss that old whaler as it was so stupid simple compared to all the...

Fixing my 228, autopilot and power steering question

I had uflex on my Whaler and the seals never failed in the five years I had it. I've heard the Seastar will have seal leakage after a few years, and since that's what I have i will likely have to replace the seals before too much longer. If i had known i was going to get Seastar then i would...

Anyone added a trolling motor (salt water) to Fisherman (216)?

Mwcarter41, can you please provide me some more details? PM me if you want. I also have a 236 and are specifically interested in your wire routing and battery placement.

Anyone added a trolling motor (salt water) to Fisherman (216)?

I do not see why Grady does not make a factory option to pre-rig trolling motors on the Fisherman series. I have a 236 and would absolutely love a GPS trolling motor. Why won't Grady offer this as a package on new models? They do on the 251 CE. Don't say, "well they have the full manuverability...

    Trolling Motor on GW 235?

I have a 2021 Fisherman 236, so basically the same hull as yours. I wouldn't mind having a trolling motor on my boat, especially for the spot-locking capability. I actually called GW and asked if it would fit on the port swim platform. They said yes and sent me a few photos of the hull during...

    New Grady quality

I have a 2021 Fisherman 236. I've had several issues, all of which were fixed. By far the biggest issue i had was an improperly rigged fuel line that broke off from the motor. This caused me to get stranded out on the bay. I didn't realize the fuel line was broken until i looked back and fuel...

    No wood? Not true.

My console dash is definately plywood. Which is pretty standard. GW says no wood in their stringer system and transom (anything that should be below the waterline).

    236 Fisherman Video

Good video. Random question - has anyone put a bow-mounted GPS trolling motor on their 236? I am interested in putting one on mine.

    Comparison of CE251 vs Fisherman

I have the 236 for several reasons. 1) The higher gunwales offer much more protection for my 6year old son than the 251 CE does 2) The big aft fishbox is really nice either for loading with fish for fishing trips or gear such as tubes when playing at the lakes 3) The aft swim platforms on the...

    Fisherman 236 Transducer.

Not me. I have a Garmin GT-51M on my boat. I don't fish deep enough where a thru-hull is worthwhile.

    The Walk Around Cuddy R.I.P.

Keep in mind that after just a few years, GW stopped selling the 191 Coastal Explorer. They still make the 251 Coastal Explorer and I saw one running in Galveston, TX just a few weeks ago. No way in hell would I trade my 236 Fisherman for the 251 Coastal Explorer.

    Freedom 235

My wife and I looked at both the 235 Freedom and 236 Fisherman, but eventually got the 236 Fisherman. I primarially fish and I really did not want the Freedom but my wife wanted the Freedom. I won out this time, but she got the options she wanted (anchor windlass, Seaport blue gel coat color...

    Painted Grady-White Hulls???

Interesting you say Seaport Blue is now a paint-only option. I have the Seaport blue gelcoat color on my 2020 Fisherman 236. I love that color!

Clean your own boat? Try this.

I have the Shurhold deck brush on the telescoping handle. I've had the same brush and handle for several years now and it's fanstactic. The brush lives in a rod holder on the inside gunwale.

    Grady 235: windlass or not?

I have a Fisherman 236 with the windlass. I live and fish in the Houston area on the shallow (<6ft) Galveston Bay. I use the windlass every trip, sometimes as many as eight or ten times per trip depending on how many spots I go to. Get the windlass and you won't regret it.

    AIS systems

I have the Garmin AIS 800 on my Fishermen 236. I navigate at the entrance to the Houston Ship channel, so as the above users said, having the AIS to see them and they see me is a great safety feature. If I collide with another fishing boat - the most likely scenario is that we will be ok. If I...
