Keeping critters out of the cabin

I agree! Live trap and execution works best for me. You never miss!

Also be aware that they may have more than 1 litter a year. If your neighborhood has lots of them you may be overrun.

If you have a live animal trap put it on board. That's what I did and caught the critter (squirrel). My boat is on a lift and I now keep a trap on it year round. Bait, I used peanut butter and peanuts just be generous with the bait (it's cheap). It's takes a long time to clean up the foam...

I had this problem and had SQUIRRELS living on the boat near the rigging tubes. They chewed spray foam, wiring and plastic tubing. The foam pilled up in the bilge area.

    Dead outlet?

My 232 Gulfstream (1998 bought new) has only one 12 v receptacle but it goes directly to the fuse panel. What I have found while trouble shooting is loose and corroded connectors and the fuse holders and fuse corroded. Needed to clean fuse and also holder.

    Boat trailer update

I love my oil bath system, what do you think about maintenance on them? I only use my trailer two 5 mile round trips to the ramp per year and have never changed the oil, only brakes and calipers due to rust. Trailer is 15 yr old ez loader with torsion axels.

    Winter storage.

I tried those green blocks and had no luck. Live traps worked for me and you can then determine what to do with the critter.

    Remote engine flush

Thanks, didn't know that the male end on the outboard did nothing but hold the hose. Feel dumb that I never looked, but my boat is hardly ever on a trailer. Your info makes it easy.

    Remote engine flush

Thanks, looked and not what I am looking for. Seems there should be some inexpensive permanent solution to flushing an outboard from inside the boat. A "Y" and valve to leave attached between the Yamaha flushing hose and fitting?

    Remote engine flush

Who is REVESCO? Could not find on web. I am only trying to update my 232 by being able to flush my motor from the interior of the boat. I am on a lift and climbing over the transom is harder as I age.

OH RATS! Can you believe it?

I had squirrels and they ate my engine electrical cables and other wiring 3 times in 2 years. Bought two live traps, set one on the boat and caught the live aboard. I now keep a live trap on the boat 24/7 and trap in the yard. My boat is on a lift and no squirrels or damage for months. I...

    Remote engine flush

I do not run the engine while flushing either. Since the 232G has a bracket and there is a full transom it requires effort to climb over the transom to reach the engine and hook up the hose. It would be much easier if a hose could be attached to the engine, run inside the boat for flushing...

    Remote engine flush

Simple and inexpensive. I know that GW has this on some boats but I don't know what components they use and MOST OF ALL I don't want to change the volume of water going through the engine when it is running.

    Remote engine flush

Getting tired of climbing over the transom of my 232 to flush the engine (I am on a lift). Has anyone installed a engine flush fitting on the inside of the boat?

Bow Tie Down for 232 W/single F250 on trailer

Your ideas are inline with mine. Just info, I do have the hook and chain which I always use. I didn't like the extra bounce of the bow in the rear view mirror. It just made me uncomfortable and my elect. winch mfg. and many of you say not to depend on the winch clutch to hold the bow tight...
