The engine mounted oil tank has an overflow hose that connects to the bottom of the air box on the port side. That is probably where the oil came from.

On my friends boat the pee stream was non existant but the motor wasn't overheating. It seems some models pee stream water passes through a heat sink that cools the electronics. Cleaned it out with salt-away and it works fine now.

The small block HPDI has a proven track record of reliability and performance.

You also have the balancer gears self-destructing on the 150's. Probably more common than corrosion.

I have a 1992 Seafarer. Very solid and good riding boat. I re-powered this year on the cheap with a low hour fresh water HPDI. For 5500 I don't see how you can get hurt. I believe that the 1992 is a SeaV2 hull.

I repowered my 92 Seafarer with a low hour HPDI. With the adapter harnesses from Yamaha it was a plug and play. The HPDI is a smooth and economical engine. I'm glad I went that route.

The flange goes outside the tank according to all that I've read.
