Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

There have been several people on this board that have put twin 150s and I have not heard of one that wasn't happy. They really increase the range of that boat if you are getting over 2 mpg. I will probably have to make the choice soon for replacement motor(s). I still have the single 250...

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

I understand that you are still breaking in the 150s, but how would you compare the performance of the new 150s to the old 200s? I'm curious, why didn't you go with new four-stroke 200s?

Break in twin F150 on 1999 268 islander

Very nice. What motors did you have on the Islander before these new 150s?

Transom Rebuild - The Saga Begins

I have a 2002 Islander and I expect to be replacing my transom and fuel tank soon. However, when you consider the price of a new boat, the cost of these repairs is really a small fraction of that cost. BOAT: Bust Out Another Thousand!!

    Question for Detailers

Come on!?!? Now you've gone ahead and mixed lines from the TV show Kung Fu with the movie Karate Kid. Unthinkable! and in response to the OP, I'd probably do those areas by hand.

Talk to me about the GW Express 305

Thanks for the great input above. drbatts situation is very similar to mine going from the 265 to the 305. Do any of you trailer your 305?

Talk to me about the GW Express 305

I have seen a few 305s pop up for sale lately and they seem like a pretty nice boat. They're not as large as a 330, but they still seem substantial. I currently own a GW Islander 270, so a 305 would be about 2 feet wider and 2 feet longer. I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this...

    2000 islander

I'm going by what pricing was for an Islander with original 2-stroke power when I bought mine in 2018. Repowered Islanders were priced higher. I'm not in the market now so I do not know recent price trends. I personally believe that this current Covid price bubble will burst soon and I would...

    2000 islander

Without seeing any photos and assuming good condition for boat and trailer, I'd say $22K to $25K

    2000 islander 26.8

I own a 2002 Islander. This hull can handle 2 to 4 foot head seas very well. The hull does not handle a following sea as well.

99’ Islander 268-Repowering with 350 Mercury VERADO single engine

I agree. Try to get in touch with Ryan. He did not have a good experience putting a 350 Verado on that hull. I believe that he likes having twin 150s

Bought My first Grady White today !

Keep in mind that shorter motors are needed when twins are used. Therefore, you could not just add one more motor like the one that you have. Also, there are a few people on this forum that have put twin 150s on that hull and have loved the results.

Winter storage in NE- full or near empty gas tank??

There seems to be a million different opinions on this topic and everyone seems to claim good success with their method. Here's mine: I'm usually around 1/2 full and I put in a heavy dose of stabil and startron. Therefore, when I fill the tank before splashing in the spring, I will have 1/2...

GW Islander 268 trailer bunk spacing?

I have a 2002 Islander 270 and a Venture trailer. My bunk spacing is 46" outside to outside on the rear (stern) and 42" in the front. In other words, they are not parallel. The center of the winch is 31' above the tongue.

Electric Hot Water Heater on my 2002 Islander Just Stopped Working

I went to the boat today and brought my multi-meter along to do some trouble shooting. I discovered that the high temperature shutoff was stuck off. I gave it a few taps with a screw driver, and the hot water heater is working again.
