    22 to 228 ride dif.

The brackets give it some quirky handling habits when backing down hard. Tilting the motor up helps a good bit but it takes some getting used to when your used to just dropping it into reverse and hitting the throttle.

    228 rod holders

I have a 0 degree holder on each side of the motor. I use them for down riggers mounts and Tri-dents. I’ve been planning to make a U- shaped assembly that had multiple holders on it that would use the two 0 degree holders as the mount.

    22 to 228 ride dif.

I have a 226 and a good friend of mine has a 228. There are some give and takes on both boats but I’d say all and all ride quality comparable. I went from a 208 to a 226. Ride quality and the ability to handle the rough are noticeably better with the 226

    deck screws and wood

You guys have me scratching my head here. What screws are you talking about? If you’re talking about the hatch cover screws, none of mine are in the stringers. They are all drilled thru the flange in the cutout. Stripped a couple out over time. Fill them all with resin and redrilled them...

why is Grady still using wood ?

What's your definition of reasonable? The best fishing around here doesn't start until early December and continues into February most years. Pretty common to leave the dock in the morning with the temps in the mid-twenties. Low to mid-forties for a high on the warmer days. Most days in the...

why is Grady still using wood ?

Only if you don't open the windows. :D Look at it another way. With the cold air blowing thru doesn't it get pretty darn cold in the winter?

    Trim Tabs

Both systems use an electric motor(s) in the system. The Lencos use two motors. Both are mounted partially submerged in the water. The Bennetts on the other hand use a single motor that drives both actuators. The motor is mounted inside the boat in a dry location. I think you’ll find...

Help Me With Water Seperator Question

Its absolutely nuts to change filters based on calendar intervals. A filter’s replacement interval should be determined by a pressure drop in excess of motor manufacturers specification. Do yourself a favor and install some sort a pressure indication device on the fuel line. Racor makes one...

    "Wireless" Trailer/Towing Lights

They sound good but would not meet legal requirements for a boat trialer in most States. You need running lights and and a light bar if over 80" wide. Not much use of having removable tail lights if you need the rest of the lights hard wired in.

fuel intake tube occluded by tank itself?

I had a similar issue although the bottom of tank was clean. Disconnected the fuel line and removed the anti-siphon valve and used a blow gun nozzle on my air compressor to blow out the pick-up tube. The first blast had some resistance, but a couple more quick blasts cleared the problem. I...

    Seafarer Scuppers

The exit of a scupper does not have to be above water to function. As long as the floor is above the water level the scupper will drain.
