    22' Seafarer motor dam/back splash

I would go ahead and make one. It's nothing more than 2- stainless piano hinges and a couple of pieces of 1/2" sheet of nylon6 or similar material. If you can’t figure out the dimensions I’d gladly measure out mine for you.

They still make Penetrol. Both Home Depot and ACE hardware stock the stuff.

Hi all, new Grady owner here

You need a fairly large kicker to be effective with that hull. The weight of the kicker then presents problems with kicker brackets and such. It's probably cheaper to pay for good tow insurance than to mess with a kicker.

Thru Hull Leaking 94 24' Explorer

If you have to replace anymore of the plastic fittings in future just snap the heads on the outside of the boat. You can then pull the hose back through the access hatch to complete the removal of the fitting.

Thru Hull Leaking 94 24' Explorer

All the screw outs I've seen have recesses in the covers to facilitate removal. I would imagine Grady used the pry-outs on the floor is so there are not "holes" in the floor of the cockpit.

    Seafarer Shoot thru transducer?

I've been running one for 2 years now on a Seafarer. The transducer is located roughly 16" from the transom and 7-8" to starboard of the center line. I'm very happy with the performance and it's a cleaner install than a transom mount. You can't tell if your drifting for running WOT by...

Evinrude OceanPro 200 Idle Adjustment help

Not sure about a 1993 but on a 1997 "B" is the idle screw. A is the throttle arm stop screw and C is the timing advance screw The idle should be set while in the water to 650 plus or minus 50 rpm. The timing should read 4 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees ATDC. The out of water idle speed...

    Seafarer Shoot thru transducer?

Go with an Airmar B60 thru hull. Beats either hands down and you will not need a fairing block. If you have a 1kW unit then the Airmar B164 is the ticket.

NEED HELP WITH RUSTY BUTTON STUD SNAPS ON FIBERGLASS

There is no such thing as "cheap" stainless steel hardware. Stainless is classified by its alloy content so it's either X or its Y and there are several inexpensive hand held instruments available to verify the content. The possibility exists that the screws where improperly passivated by...

grady 20' vs 22' center console

Chill dog. Different strokes for different folks. That's why they offer optional power on the boat. FYI I ran an Overnighter with a 175 HP 2 stroke on the back for a few years and considered that marginal HP as well. Waht it comes down to is not speed, its torqueand unless you've really...

    Antenna placement

I have a 97 Seafarer with a hardtop and the electronics box. It came stock from the factory with a "drop" tube" from the electronics box to the dash so I'd be surprised if you didn’t already have one. I routed both antenna cables and the GPS cable under the lip of the hardtop ran them as a...

    Deck plate o-rings

I’m not sure if mine deck plates are Temptress or not but mine looked to have closed cell foam rubber o-rings in them. I’m not a real fan of foam rubber anything thus the switch to regular rubber o-rings. Buna-n performance is marginal in sunlight, weathering and ozone. Silicon would have...

    problem refueling ?

I had an 1986 and it's a pretty common problem on that vintage of Overnighter. It’s caused by having both the fill and vent hoses positioned at the rear of the fuel tank. When the boat sitting on the trailer it's typically pretty level and you usually don’t experience any problems filling...

Trim tab question for 20ft. Overnighter

From the camp of more is almost always better I put 12 x 12 on my 204. With your motor on a bracket your going to need all the help you can getting your butt up out of the water. The 12x 12 takes up the same amount of transom space yet gives you 30% more surface area (lift) in the process.

    Deck plate o-rings

They fit like a glove. The new rings are not as soft so I had to lube the o-ring or the plate was hard to get out. Once I lubed the o-rings the lids fit nice and snug.
