    Cheap Tach for setting idle

Try Sears or an auto parts store for a tach/dwell meter. You will need to hook it up to a 12 volt battery and connect the inductive lead to the spark plug wire if this engine has one. Sears also has a photo tach that you place a piece of tape on the flywheel and it will read the rpm's.

    Cabin leaks, stations

I was just checking my 300 Marlin today for that. There is a slight trickle coming into my V-berth storage bin. The trail of water is inline with a hand rail mounting station. There is also a rub rail seam in the same location. I had a drain snake camera up under the cabin liner in that are. It...

300 Marlin Dash & seat covers.

They are made from the same material that the side curtains are made from. I think it might be Stamoid or something similar that Grady uses. I like to have the helm covered to help stop the sun from beating down on it and disintegrating the plastics. Even with the curtains down the sun gets...

F250 seems to be have a lot of play left to right.

My F250 seams to have quite a bit of play in those bushings as well. The guy how did the survey said that this is common for these these engines with a few hours. He said he has seen a few that were missing also. I have 200 hours on the engines. My starboard engine seams to have more play...

    Airshow trip

Took my Marlin on the first long trip, 40 miles each way to Jones Beach for the Memorial Day weekend airshow. There is nothing like seeing an B-17 in the air. Had the best spot to watch as they flew so close over the boat.

    Pics of Grady without stripes?

Hey Finest Kind. I was on my 300 Marlin Defiant. All we got were very big blue fish. A double header on an umbrella rig was a lot of fun.

    Grady hardtop view

Yes just like Gary said is the same thing on my 30 Marilin. Also sun glare reflecting off the dash area onto the glass makes it look like your in fog.

    Dealing with Jean's Canvas????

Has anybody have any experience good or bad with with Jean's Canvas in Middletown New Jersey on RT. 36 near the Highlands. They took measurements and made templates for dash and seat covers that would take 9 days to make and install. Now going past two months I can't get any kind of an...

    Woodruff Key

They are pressed in very tight. I had to get a cold chisel and hammer the living daylights out of the top corner before it started to move. Get a good metal cutting chisel and a flat punch. Make sure you lay something soft down so you don't mare the L/U finish. File down the sides of the...

Somers Point Marina in South NJ

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of contacting Hobby Lobby for some major accessories but now I'm not sure. Why on earth would anybody turn away a customer like that. Maybe some day down the road you might like to trade up and now the potential sale is lost forever. Anybody ever try...

    Sealant for motor mounting bolt

I wasn't to happy with how Grady sealed my outboard bolts. I had one bolt leaking water inside the hull on my 30 marlin. There was hardly any sealant on the bolt at all. Only a little bit on the bottom. The others were the same way. I removed the bolts and re-bedded them and filled in the...

Thanks guys, Flames sound great. I want to put on some of those bow thruster symbols like you see on ships. Twin F250's and have been out a few times. Still getting used to everything. I love this boat and the nice soft ride it has.
