Express 330 or 370 in San Diego?

There’s a 2005 33 express in Long Beach for sale. It’s on boat trader for $149k. Haven’t seen a larger express for sale in So Cal.

    Post your SeaDek/similar photos!

Not mine but used Marlin that I'm looking at. Wasn't sure I loved the color but it looked pretty good in person.

    took a beating,but i sold my grady.

Be patient and don't panic if your boat which blue books at $40K is bid to only $20K two hours before the auction closes. Thats normal. Look at the bid history of similar boats to yours to get an idea for what will happen. Usually the real buyers only bid in the last 60 seconds - in my case...

    Newby with first Grady White

While keeping it on a trailer certainly takes some of the risk out of this it's not a long term solution. You don't want one of these to break and leak when you are 20+ miles offshore. I agree with your comments though. Not sure what they were thinking using plastic back in the day...

Congrats on your boat! Our gulfstream is a 93 and we've had it for almost 2 years now. Great, great boat! Does yours have the original plastic scuppers and thru hulls? If so I'd replace them ASAP. We had one crack and leak while our boat was slipped and almost sank completely. Luckily...

    1991 Dolphin Repower

I'd be all over a pair of 200hpdi engines if I were you (assuming you can find some that are decently priced with moderate use). I repowered our gulfstream with hpdi last summer. There are no restrictions that I'm aware of regarding repowering used in CA. I didn't ask around however so who...

    Yamaha HPDI vs 4 stroke

Google 300hpdi and you'll find more bad press than you ever wanted to read. Enough to make you reconsider. Keep in mind most of what you'll find bashing the engine was writtein 2005 when Yamaha still had their head up their @$$ and kept denying anything was wrong with these engines. There...

    Gulfstream Power / Performance

We have a 04 300 HPDI 2 stroke on our gulfstream. Previously had a 250 2 stroke until it died. Boat is slipped 24/7, has bottom paint and is cleaned every 3 weeks in the summer months. Numbers go something like this with an average load. 4400 rpms burning 16gph - around 27 knots 4000 rpm...

    New Grady owner...

Word of advice.... replace them all now. We had our boat (93 hull) out of the water last June for repower. Thought about replacing the thru-hulls but wanted to get the boat back in the water ASAP. 3 days after putting her in the slip the marina called to tell me the boat was going down...

Re: Hailing Port Awesome boat. Congrats! Replace all the plastic thru hulls, not just the bad ones. They'll all be bad sooner or later.

    Yes

Just the facts: 94 gulfstream w/ single yammie 250. Replaced it last summer with an 05 300 HPDI and it's been great. Despite the bad press on HPDIs we got a low hour engine with the warranty through April 2009 and the price was right. Didn't want the weight of a 250 4 stroke or the...

Look what I found in New Zealand!!

Nice. When I was in Ireland they had similar set ups along the Ring of Kerry. Not many true marinas but boats tied off to moorings in the harbor, accessable by dingy. I guess they don't flush engines down under? That would worry me.

How many of you name your boats?

I think all boats should have a name. Ours came with a name that was decent enough to keep (Fin & Tonic) and had a cool logo complete with martini glass and sailfish. I would name it for sure. The new style stickers used for names and logos go on an off pretty easy and last longer than paint.

Winter action - San Diego style

I kayak fished for 3 years prior to owning a boat and still do on some days. The simplicity of kayak fishing is really hard to beat. Some guys rig theirs with electronics, bait tanks, etc. I always prefered the less is more approach to the kayak. Couple of poles and a small box of tackle is...

Winter action - San Diego style

The local winter yellowtail bite has picked up in the last few days with the homeguard fish feasting on squid in La Jolla Canyon. Had only a few hours to get out this morning and made the most of it. 36lbs and 25lbs. Home by 10:00. Water temp was 56 and once the sun came up it was nice out...

    faulty trim tabs

Second getting in contact with tabman on THT. They have a specific boar for benett trim tabs. Good service. Our boat has an inline fuse for the trim tabs that is not with the rest of the fuses.
