    Outboard questions Offshore 24

A friend of mine has a 1980 24 Offshore with a pair of 140 Johnsons. His is the open transom model and performs well with that engine package. The boat came with 120's and after lots and lots of offshore trips,(he has had the boat 20 years) he repowered with the used engines and gained some...

    Wiper Blade

I too had to replace the wiper on my 23. I thought that $15 was very reasonable for a complete arm from my dealer.

2001 twin yamaha 250 salwaterseries are they good motors?

That is an excellent motor. I ran 1 on a 22" (other brand boat) for 3 years prior to getting a Grady and loved it. According to the Navman, trolling about 2 gallons an hour and at cruise, 10-12 GPH. I used the Ringfree and found that it clogged up the O2 sensor. I stopped with the Ringfree and...

    Where do you put everything?

Great picture Strikezone. The trip to Georgetown is also great and the Hampton Inn on the water is an excellent place to stay. Everything is within walking distance from the marina.

tandem torsion bar trailer not for salt water?

You can't beat the torsion axles for ride quality and durability and they require a lot less maintenance. Even in salt water. I wouldn't have anything else.

    Should I really replace zincs/plugs?

Replace the plugs (they are cheap insurance) and tab zincs (apply some Loctite to the threads on the tab bolts). Clean the handlebar zincs and ride.

    Please help....looking at 88 24' Offshore

Not sure about the 1988 24 Offshore. If it is anything like the 1980 24 Offshore I used to fish, that is one tough boat!!. In fact it was that boat that got me to look at Grady & switch from another manufaturer. Not sure if the power is adequate. The 80 model has a pair of 140 Johnsons and seems...

    Trailering Question

I fuss about some of the maintenance issues, you know, salt water & brakes, but disc brakes on both axles have saved my butt when for some reason I'm invisible to other vehicles !!.

    Radio/Speaker upgrade

Thanks for the reply Walkers Edge. Yes we are talking about the same location on the bulkhead. I looked, but did not see any piping running from side to side. I used the tubes on the starboard to run wires for the rear and located box speakers out of sight under the gunnels. I installed a Sony...

    Radio/Speaker upgrade

Thanks for the tips. What I have found in my search is that all areas are sealed from the bulkheads to the deck/structures making for a tighter built boat. I suppose that's why Grady's are so highly rated. Good luck selling yours. Thanks.
