If your boat has AC, don't forget to empty the strainer by the little petcock screw and disconnect the hose line from the pump. Beg borrow or steal a small air compressor and blow out the water in the line via the disconnected hose. Open all seacocks and leave open until spring.

This is some very good information. Thanks to all contributors. I know that the engine has one, because it is shown in the manual and the part is available for the F225. I am now going to replace it after haul out in a couple of weeks. Slacktime

Has anyone replaced the Poppet Valve (I think it's also called the Pressure control Valve) on a Yamaha F225? Any advice on how often or symptoms to indicate replacement. Engines have 680 hours, but I don't know if it ever was replaced. thanks

Thanks for the info Guys. I found the Flambeau Tuff Tainer Zerust boxes C98-05004, 14.25" X 9" X 2" fit perfectly. Also I think the Plano 3700 series will fit as well. Of all places, the best prices were at WalMart! Not the first place I would go but money talks! SlackTime
