    222 Tank '05

If you take those 8 HDPE blocks out you may be able to slide the tank and lift it out. Make sure you use a new Philips head bit that is properly sized, slow speed drill (careful with impact tool - not recommended), get in proper position, get behind the screws with perfect alignment and take...

Escape 209 total loss of electrical power, batteries 100%.

I assume you have a A/Both/B switch. They do go bad. Get behind it and measure voltage. Check voltage with some kind of load on it to be sure the battery is OK. Bilge pumps are fused not on the battery switch. Make sure battery connections are tight.

DIY SOS: Fuel Filler & Vent Hose Replacement on 2006 Sailfish 282 – HELP NEEDED!

Take a look at this thread. Skip down to post #39. This is a 268 Islander - basically a narrow beam Sailfish. In order to get access to the fuel fill's and hose I cut out a 12"x12" opening on the flat part of the gunnel. It's an easy repair if you make the cuts in the flat area. Glue Popsicle...

Oldest 232 Gulfstream owner with original fuel tanks ?

20 years is a reasonable life expectancy for fuel tank. You need to plan accordingly and be prepared to replace them. I did mine two years ago. Search Islander Fuel tank replacement Hookup1.

1996 Grady gel coat touch up

Matching even with Spectrum gelcoat is not going to happen. The gelcoat fades to an almost bright white. Fix it and live with it until it fades!

8 original hours on 2008 GW and Yamaha 200 questions

I just got title to an abandoned 2008 Rinker 280 Express Cruiser. V8 Volvo Penta gas engine. Boat hasn't been used since 2012. Sat on my storage property for the last 10 years. While I was waiting on the title all plugs were pulled and cylinders lubed with Miracle Mystery Oil and PB Blaster. Let...

8 original hours on 2008 GW and Yamaha 200 questions

Look for freeze issues with the engine and boat. See if you can tell if it was winterized before being put away. If they can bring it inside get some heat in there and warm it up. Pick a decent day outside. Run the engine preferably in a tank but muffs and a split hose to the flush is ok too...

    Fish box insulation (306 canyon)

Not sure about access on your boat. I had a large removable fish box on my Egg Harbor sport fish. I took foam board and attached it to the outside of the box with spray foam. It gives you a nice flat, even surface and you can fill and tape the edges with HVAC foil tape. Also consider doing...

27 year old fuel tank is out! New tank design mod…

The way to do it is to adhere 1/4" neoprene strips to the tank with 3M 4000. Anything that touches the tank front, back, sides, bottom and mounting blocks. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/268-islander-fuel-tank-replacement.36637/

    injectadeck

You are saying $10,000 for a traditional repair vs $500 materials DIY? With miscellaneous over $9,000? Are you repairing the deck, the hatch or both? I recored my hatch with Coosa board core. It wasn't a big DIY project. Less than $800 with lots of leftover material. Deck was fine so no repair...

    300 with 2 mfd

You don't have a width problem. The issue will be the height. The 8612 is 8.5" and the 8616 is 10.3". The 8612 and 8616 both have screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. You may want to consider two 8612 units side by side. I squeezed a 8612 into my Islander and have a 8610 up top in the electronics...

    Circuit Breaker

I swapped the circuit breaker out. Lugs had to be drilled out with a step bit but there was plenty of copper lug to do it. That breaker controlled everything on the helm including the switch panel and upper/lower electronics boxes. Upper box powered by a red wire (red/white black white pair to...

    Hard Top Wanted

Dave - You are looking for a needle in a haystack. There are no new-old-stock hardtops waiting for you. A 30 year old "used" hardtop will cost more to refinish than a new one would cost. I refinished my 25 year old hardtop myself. It came out perfect but it would have been too expensive to have...

    Circuit Breaker

That's what I thought it was. I remember your comment about the red button breaker sucks. Voltage at the helm and overhead box is lower than it should be. I have to open up the lower station and check how things are wired. I have a red/white and a black/white direct from the battery to the...

Too lazy to figure it out but can someone tell me what this red button breaker is for? Can’t trip it. Going to replace with a better breaker.
