    DC Fridge on 232

How will you keep the batteries charged? Flipping on the fridge is not going to instantly give you cold contents. You're going to have to turn the fridge on the day before, draining the battery pretty well. If all you want is cold beer, thats what they make coolers and ice for. If you don't like...

Bad Day On Water Now Need Advice

If you're looking to sell/trade in the near future: 1. Sell everything as is and let the new owner repower. You will never make back the money you spend selling the boat with a "new motor" 2. Search ebay, craigslist, scream and fly, local marinas that do repowers for any used yamaha in a similar...

    fuel restriction problem

Try to pump fuel or low pressure compressed air back into the tank through the fitting to dislodge what might be at the pickup. If in fact you do have crud in the tank, call a fuel polishing company.

    Rust from bow rail

Stainless is not stainfree. You probably have to disassemble the problem rail and give it a good cleaning in and out. Remove the stain with MaryKate On-Off (read the label) and then wax the area with a quality wax.

Towing should be ok. Stopping, especially in an emergency, might not be so good.

    2011 Sheduled Events

I do Block every year, although the last two years I've been there in a 19' Baja (night trip to a friend's house), 20 Overnighter (pregnant wife gave me the OK for a night), Alarus CH-2000 (airplane, great for a lunch run), and the 36' Pacemaker (been going there for about 18 years). I did a...

Teak - Refinishing with Honey Teak

Usually is about 2 years before a reclean with Te-Ka and reapply. Any scuffs gets touched up in season as soon as they are noticed and that helps prolong the refinish. In the above pic the platform was just rebuilt and had Amazon on it. The gunnel cap had been oiled about 7 months prior.

    Gelcoat scum at water line

I have heard (and never tried) ketchup will take the scum line out. What I know works is Muriatic Acid but be sure to READ AND FOLLOW THE LABEL and have plenty of water around to rinse/flush. It is some nasty stuff to inhale or get on yourself and will eat most trailer galvinizer, but works great.

Teak - Refinishing with Honey Teak

Teak finish is a matter of personal opinion for many. I did the cetol on a 25' Catalina sailboat I had and hated it. It took the nice color of teak and made it into an ugly orange haze. I've done Amazon teak oil and like the results, but hated the reapplication throughout the season to make it...

    Bad day on the water

The hardest part will probably be removing the bolts that hold the lower unit onto the engine without breaking them. Heat usually helps, especially if you can't remember the last time they were removed. As far as a car water pump lasting 35 years, thats a metal wheel as opposed to a rubber impeller.
