    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

Ok I lifted both motors and I see the lever you all are referring too. On the working side it goes up and down with the motor, must have a spring in it. On the bad side it just moves freely by hand, appears the spring is likely broken. I'll likely fix it, but it is move down the list of things...

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

This is exactly my thoughts, if I can fix it easily, then I want to because...well everything should work right. :) But if not, no worries as I can look back at it as I did with my previous boat that had no indicator. :D

    Trim Indicator on Yamaha Gauge

03 282 with original engines and gauges. When I purchased it the gauges were unreadable. I sent them to a place to get refurbished. They did a great job and they look and work perfectly except, the starboard tach has the trim indicator shows the motor trimmed up all the way and does not change...

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

Thank you all for the input. If the tabs are stainless, I wonder why they were painted in the first place. The paint was flaking off. Look at the link above, I think I'll just clean them good and leave them. This boat will not stay in the water, it will be stored indoors and will be washed down...

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

Thanks guys, I'll clean it all up and get a better look at it. So the "paint" on the trim tabs is flaking off, any recommendation on a paint for them?

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

So I loosened the 2 lower screws and water streamed down the bunk to the ground. Made a wet mark about the size of a quarter. Not sure if it actually came out of the holes, or was between the plate and hull.

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

Yes it is the ones mounted to the bottom of the hull. I just took the starboard side off and water actually dripped out. So, I don't have to drill out and re-glass? That would be awesome news!

UPDATE Advice dealing with Moisture at the Trim Tabs

I finally got to this issue. Pulled the port side trim tab and using the q-tip and paper towel I was able to determine there is moisture in most the the mounting screw holes. Now what? As a reminder the surveyor suggesting pulling the trim tabs, drill the mounting holes bigger, and putting...

    Using an IPAD for Navigation.

Actually the IPAD that are cell capable have a GPS antenna, That is all you need so cell service doesn't matter. Just like your chart plotter using GPS.

    Using an IPAD for Navigation.

Yes, I still have the new simrad that has navigation. So I will use the IPAD for nav and the simrad for fish finding. If I have an issue with the IPAD I can use the simrad or even my phone that has the same capability as the IPAD.
