    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

BobP, Thanks for the advice. I have an older 25' Sailfish with the kicker on it that seems to do ok. It does have a TR1 autopilot so we don't have to run it manually. The engines I was looking at are gone so back to the hunt. I have found a couple of 250 OX66 packages but thinking that I...

    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

Thanks everyone for your input. I may just have to try it. The fact that twin 150s seem to be acceptable makes me think that a single 300 that weighs less and has less drag should be OK. That way I could put my small kicker on it easily and trolling would be easier. Twin 200's of any type...

    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

I have a 1988 25' sailfish that had the twin 250 OX66 under water. They are now parts motors so I am looking for an alternative. The boat is only rated for 400 HP so I was thinking about twin 200 HDPI or Optimax motors. Not having much luck finding good motors at an afordable price. I have...

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

MagicalBill, In theory I agree. Just not sure what a 25 Sailfish is rated for but my guess would be around 400 HP. Will probably rebuild them and use them anyway. That thing will probably pull some impressive hole shots with 500 2 stroke HP. GP

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

Yes, does sound like it is aft loaded. Many people do this because they are pulling with a 1/2 to. And think that it will be better on the truck. I saw a truck coming down out of the mountains in NC one time with a car on a trailer and he had to keep accelerating to keep it straight. Every time...

    25' Sailfish power options

Thanks onoahimahi, Looks like those are mostly all the later model 272 and 282 but I guess if twin 200's will handle the larger boats they should handle mine. Not sure what year they changed the hull and if that would make a difference. Would love a pair of etecs like yours but they seldom...

    25' Sailfish power options

Just got my new project boat home and was hoping that someone here might have some experience with different power options. My current boat has twin 170hp Mercruiser 470s but I really wanted outboards to get rid of the dog house for fishing purposes. The project boat also had a hardtop...

    Sailfish hardtop question

Do you still have the hard top? You are a ways away but I have a much older Grady that I would love to have a hard top on but can not justify the cost of new. Thanks, Greg
