Sdfish, you can see pics of my mods (changes) on the "tips modifications and electronics" area of the forum. Yes I got a little carried away, but retirement can make one invent perceived improvements when on completion question their validity. But o boy are they fun!

2002 180 Sportsman: New to me Questions

captaintony, I removed the 6 inch plates in the splash well and replace them with two 10 inch Armstrong deck plates. Totally waterproof and makes easy access to the happenings in the bilge. Talked with GW first and they assured me it would not compromise the splash well structure or stern of...

Deck hatch with hinges and hatch spring, raw water spray wash down for starboard fish hatch, latched and hinged stern hatch, kicker connect with covered ignition and tt cable tubes and fuel line. Ok some repeats, but I guess a good time put a stop to this.

    Crab pot puller

Been using the Ace line puller for years, found if you stop it before reaching the bottom of the hull, (side of the boat) you can manually swing it up and into the boat with no issues. Although...... if you load up with prawns it is a bit of a grunt to get it over the gunnels. The prawns tend to...

    master stateroom

    master stateroom

Thought you guys might like to see the bed I made for the master stateroom of my 208 Adventure. The frame I made from conventional dimension lumber but took some of my wood turning burls (sliced and polished for the head and base board. It was a squeeze but got it in place. ;)

    Additive to gas tank

Thanks family affair for the short tutorial. "or do we just tell the gentleman to spend the extra $0.10/gallon to avoid headaches? If it aint broke........ with over 2000 hours on Yamaha F outboards with no issues, I believe I will stay with my program. This issue may have a lot to do with...

    Additive to gas tank

Ok guys, just how important is using an additive? I have never used an additive in many years of boating running mostly Yamaha 4 strokes, and have never had any issues as mentioned. Yes sometimes my boat sits for a few months between start ups, mostly winter months. So what could I possibly be...

What have you done to your Grady lately?

    The New Adventure

Lucky, I guess I worked backward, from a 38 ft. commercial troller to a 20" Grady with a coupe of smaller stops on the way. But it sure has been a good time getting here.

    The New Adventure

Thanks Mustang, ..... OK now it appears to be about comfort as apposed to serious and competitive, I understand that. I don't think we should confuse budget with ones serious pursuit of the fickle and scaled finned. Yes those with deeper pockets can ride in more comfort , but then some of us...

    Auto pilot hardover

Yes Halfhitch good point, re "way points". Speaking of which, returned to my favourite prawning grounds and productive waypoints on my GPS. Anyway I guess someone had marked my spots on his GPS last visit and set on my marks where I had been setting. We usually leave them for a few hour and...

    The New Adventure

"You can definitely still do all of the things mentioned above and then some, but imo it’s more meant for the serious or more competitive fisherman as opposed to the 208 Adventure." Sorry Mustang, can't agree with that comment. Size of a boat has little to nothing to do with a "serious or more...
