Hydraulic SeaStar Steering System Leaking Hyd. Fluid

Man, This post came 2 weeks too late. I just picked mine up from the shop for the same problem. They did a tiny bit more like check my electrical systems, replace a breaker, fix a loose wire, but the main thing they did was put a "seal kit" there in the steering column. Cost me $218.00!!!!

    Livewell Seacock Valve

That is it. I have a 209 as well that I purchased used last year. I have just recently found the valve myself. FYI--- I have also just recently found this out. You can download a copy of the owners manual for this boat (any year) and from what I can tell most others, on Grady's website...

Is Grady Construction worse than they tell us?

I bought my '96 Escape last summer. No caulk in the rear hatch. As far as I can tell it has never been sealed. Makes me worry. Anyway, after this thread, I have bought some 4200. I plan on taking the hatch off, inspecting everything, cleaning it out, drying it out and sealing it this...

    Teak Cleaner

Where do you get this Simple (y) Green cleaner. I know I have heard of it before but I have not been able to locate any. My wife picked up some "Mean Green" cleaner for me this weekend. Do you think that will work?

That looks great. I have a 1988 Tournament that needs the same thing. I also have a '96 Escape that could use it in the future as well. Will you pass on the contact information so that I could order some of the board?

    Glassing the transom cap

Just Wondering: After reading several threads about rotting transoms and the problems people have with theirs, why does the factory use that metal trim instead of glassing it themselves? :?

Grady White Adventure 208 Wood Trim Pre-1997

It is one heck of boat! Most people can't believe it is only 20ft. Even people who own other 20 footers. Grady-White took advantage of every in of space. It is also very versatile. I can take it 30 miles out or pull my kids in a tube in the ICW. I love it so far!

Grady White Adventure 208 Wood Trim Pre-1997

Great Question. I bought a '96 209 Escape last summer. I had the same question. I have tried furniture polish and it looks good when it is wet but as soon as it dries it looks the same. I was considering trying to replace it with some type of poly. board like they use on the new ones now...

    209 escape

150hp v/s 200hp I have a 209 Escape with a 200hp Mercury EFI. I also have a 19ft Tournament with a 175hp Evinrude which used to have a 150 on it. The 150 was great on the 19ft Tournament but the 175hp is better. I would not even consider less than a 200hp for the Escape. It is a heavy...
