Main Breaker Trips with Shore Power Outage

I have a problem with the main breaker on my 120 volt AC panel on our 300 Marlin. When there is a power failure on shore power, the main panel breaker on the boat trips. Trouble is, when the shore power returns, the power to the boat is not restored. Naturally, nothing receives power until I...

    Towing the Marlin

Yes. I bought a LoadRite Aluminum Triple Axle E/H 3 axle disc brakes bunk trailer from Beacon Light Marina where I bought the boat. Shipped the boat on the trailer from Baltimore to Bellingham using U-Ship. Met my hauler at a Bellingham rest stop and brought the rig across the border into...

    Towing the Marlin

Have you considered adding air-bags to the 2500 suspension? I've been told this will add stability to the truck as the rig does tend to dipsy dooble a fair bit on certain dips in the road. They said it's like converting the truck to a 3500 non dually. Also, you can adjust tongue height with...

Do you have electric over hydraulic disc brakes on your trailer? I have the same boat and a 2013 Denali HD truck.

    Help! New Grady problems

Our 300 Marlin has a 30 gallon livewell tank on the port side. When full, the tank adds 300 lbs to the port side, causing a list. No different than having a 300 lb lineman standing on the port side. It's not rocket science.

    TV cabinet

I removed the stock TV and swing hinge without taking out the whole cabinet assembly, but it was not easy. I accessed the inverter by removing the telephone jack wall plate. I then removed the stock DVD unit and installed a 19 inch LED TV and blu-ray player. I also installed a wireless router...

    Marlin canvas cover

Are there any supports for the rear section, such as a 2 x 4 or a rope running down the center?

    Oversize Garage

We had our 48 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge in this shed; 52 feet overall plus 6 feet of dinghy on a rear davit. Lovely shed but I really can't justify the moorage expense ($13K) for a 30 Grady. You could probably squeeze two Marlin 300 boats in this shed.

    Is Grady Quality still There?

Having done a number of modifications since our purchase, I have had an opportunity to see our 2005 Marlin 300 from the inside out, and I would say the quality is there. Robust construction, attention to detail and very likely a very labor intensive product to build. And Grady's customer...

BEST RIDING HULL BEYOND 232 SV2 HULL?

I agree regarding the Marlin 300. It does very well for a 30 footer. But despite its seaworthy hull, in 25 knots of wind with a four foot chop you soon realize it's still a 30 footer.

Could also be air in the system, which might mean a loose connection on the intake side of the system.

    Marlin 300 fuel economy

We have experienced the odd bit of cavitation in 4 foot chop but normally it is not a problem.

    Marlin 300 fuel economy

Interesting observations regarding 4 blade props. Do your engines still max out at 6000 RPM?

    Solo handling of larger boats

I recently sold a 48 Searay Sedan Bridge which I solo handled all the time. I now have a Marlin 300. The Searay at 25 tons was a lot easier to handle than the Marlin 300 at about 6 tons, especially docking. I wouldn't be intimidated by the prospect of a larger boat.

Strange way to plumb a water heater?

I found it. It is actually a winterizing bypass. What threw me was I couldn't find a shutoff valve for the bypass line. As they said on Captain Phillips "Hey Irish; everythingonnabeokay"
