I've got the Garmin 741xs with chirp transducer that I'm very happy with. Accurate charting and really good strong depth / fishfinder readings.

Like everyone else said, I use it every time and so far no probs on this or my last 208.

Manual on my F200 says no. However I do know guys that do this...I go with the manual myself.

Those fish boxes aren't totally waterproof so while I use the one behind the helm for cleaning agents and such I wouldn't put anything in there that needs to stay dry unless you use a waterproof container. They DO have a lot of room for stuff though!

I'd call whoever the local Grady Dealer is in your area and ask them for a recommendation. You'll be using them for parts and such down the road, you might as well get to know them now. :-)

Knowing how much work you put into the boat this past winter I've gotta say that really sucks! Sorry to hear it. Sounds pretty fishy especially after you checked after launching. I guess you're gonna have to get a couple of extras to keep in the truck. Hope the gel coat repair goes well.

Haha! My Ex has a pic of me shoveling out my old 208 (back in the 90's) at the dock after a late March snowstorm. back Then we still had flounders to fish for! It happens, as nice as the weather has been I was tempted to launch early again this year too!

I've been flushing every time I get back to the dock. The last boat went fine for 20 years so I guess it helps.
