I have a hose size of one inch. I took mine out and went to West marine. They had them on the shelf. I used marlon as those fittings are close to the water line and the acetal is for in my opinion well above the water line.
The port fitting is easy to get to by pulling the storage box out...
On the second above 50 degree day I replaced those thru the hull fittings.
I did not take pix but I did think about it. But time nor the captain were on my side. I will answer any questions about how to do it. it was not that bad.
I have to tell you that at one point I almost did not...
just to update grady did respond and offered some help. Basicly stating that some cutting may be needed on the port side and the cover on the starboard is good starting point. This is one of the reasons that covers were added on the later modles.
Thank you all so much for your...
BobP You bring up a good point about the plastic maerlon and bronze never rusting. I had the transome proffesionall re done and put stainless scuppers in. I noticed the rust starting and may even replace them as well even though they are not that old. Should the chrome over bronze be grounded...
I know its a great deal on an engine but the 204c needs at min. a 150. I have a suzuki f 150. No problems at all for my boating and fishing needs with the family. But I would not want anything less and not that much more.
To be perfectly honest I did notice them not looking so good last season. I did a little poking and proding with a screwdriver and decided to roll the dice. I felt the odds were on my side due to location. I gave it one more season. But after the economy failing and bunch of other crap going on...
Hey Bob, thanks for the reply. I did know that hatch would have something to do with the starboard fitting. I have been doing a little to the boat each year since I got it three years ago and one of the things was to pull that drawer box out as they are all broke. I will look further behind that...
Ok I put a request into grady see if they can help in all of thier infinate wisdom since they put the damn things there! :? Looks like I may be kind of skrude, and have to get out the sawzall and chewing gum. :o I will keep you posted.
Uggggg  I was checking the side through the hull drains for the fish boxes on port and starboard side and I don't feel comfortable with what I see. Chalky possibly cracking just inside  So the problem is I do not see any easy or hard way to get to them for replacement. Any...
If I may throw in .02 to the till, I had to make the decision of hp when repowering my original 85 suzuki 150. I opted for the Suzuki F-150 and would have gone for a bit more hp (175) had it been available. Someone with more knowledge correct me, however I do believe Grady offered these boats...
Coop,
I have an 86 overnighter I am considering to put on the market. Rebuilt transom, 2 yr old fuel tank, 06 suzuki 150, full enclosure approx 4 yrs old,
I do not have pix at the present. PM me if you may be interested.
CD I have to tell you I have nothing fancy I actually fit the pump next to the starbored battery. It is slightly wedged in between the cockpit drain hose and side wall. I did not hard mount it or hang it on the bracket.
I tie banded it to the drain hose. It makes for easier servicing. The only...
Oh yeh forgot to add, where the water builds in front of the scupper hole where that little dip is at, you usually don't stand in that exact spot. The water does not stay there constantly. Just know that if at rest or anchor if you see a little water come in its no big deal. I may also add a...
Bread, I will tell you my story hopefully it helps in your decision. When I found the boat in 06 it had the original 150 hp 1985 suzuki. I have had suzuki power on two other family boats and could not be happier with them so you know I did entertain other brands but all of their posotives...
Bread,
I have an 1986 overnighter 204c and installed a suzuki f150 counter rotating that I was able to get a good price on. I would have went with a 175 however they were unavailable at the time I was looking. With full load of fuel, scuppers are 80% under at rest. I don't regret it at all. :)...
cd,
I don't have a major problem just trying to resolve a smaller anoyance. I also wanted a little more room for a possible salt water wash down pump. When I baught two new batteries to go with my new outboard I was mistakenly given two heavier duty batteries than necessary. I should have been...
