    Freedom 225 fuel economy

You're 0.3 from equaling factory performance numbers without really knowing how close you are to exact factory conditions, be careful 'fixing' what might not be broken. I have an older T-22 with Honda 225, and here's what I found after several hundred hours watching the fuel flow meter...

Chronic fuel flow issues - SOLVED

Re: Chronic fuel flow issues - please help before I go crazy Do the easy the easy stuff first. Pull out the anti-siphon valve and either ream it out to remove the ball and spring, or just replace with as barb fitting, blow some air through the line (gently with vent hose in place, harder with...

    Battery / charger question

I'd get a battery cherger with has multiple leads, one battery can't screw up the other. I know nothing of your set-up, but I'd wager more batteries are killed each year by over-charging than any other reason. The second reason would be loss of water before charging (I check at least monthly)...

    Motor Height Tournament 225

Raise the motor one notch at a time until the plate is at/slightly above the surface when at cruise. If it currently buried, I think you'll start to improvement in both speed and RPM, although it will never be a 'go-fast'. You'll know you went a hole too far when the prop begins to blow out on...

    Dual battery question

The deal with running on 1+2, ALL, BOTH (whatever your switch says) is not when everything is good, it's when something isn't good. If you have an undetected electrical malfunction, you may kill or damage both batteries. Also depends on how your system is wired and how you maintain your...

What do do about battery charger

The reading on the port battery is 15 volts without being plugged in, :uhm I thought something on the order of 12.8v indicated full charge of a static battery. Something may be amiss if you're showing 15 volts ...

    1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension prep

Re: 1986 Seafarer 227 Repairs, Updates and Upgrades an exact match for the trailer that was under it. Would you ride on an elevator that was constructed exactly at design weight loading limits (and some years ago, at that)? If the trailer was rated for a 4100# load, and your boat weighs...

    Trim question

I start with motor trimmed way down, tabs up. Smooth application of throttle sometimes minimizes the rise. Once on plane I trim the motor up for best cruise for conditions (the higher the better, to a point of diminishing return), then I'll add tabs for best ride (but only if needed). Mine is...
