    gelcoat repair advice

I've done a little work with fiberglas cloth and resin years ago patching holes in beaters I owned in my younger years. would the woven cloth or the "tiger hair" style cloth be the preferred cloth ? also how does one "thicken" epoxy to use for this repair?

    gelcoat repair advice

My boat was hauled for the season recently and i went and cleared all my gear off earlier this week to bring home and store for the winter. While looking at the hull i noticed this chunk missing right on one of the underwater strakes. I don't know how i managed to do this but my bet is a lobster...

    Sailfish Seat Upgrade From Pompanette

You can replace just the arm rests, I bought one set from a member of the forum and a second set from Pompanette this spring and swapped out the grungy arm rests on the seats on my 282 Sailfish.

    bennett trim tab problems

On my boat its wired such that pressing one of the switches energizes one of the solenoids to open the valve permitting fluid flow and operates the pump in either the fluid out to the tab piston or fluid back to the reservoir direction. If i was to hit both buttons simultaneously; one to raise a...

    bennett trim tab problems

I got the tabs working correctly last Friday. I had called bennett and the tech i spoke with suggested changing the relay. I had not seen a relay so I ordered a new relay and followed the cables from the switch to the pump and i had no relay in my system so I'll have to return the relay. While...

    bennett trim tab problems

I've been having trouble with my trim tabs on my '06 Sailfish. I lost all function a couple weeks ago while out on a trip, when we got back to the dock i found the 20 A fuse blown. Next weekend when we got back to the boat i replaced the fuse and it blew as soon as i tested it. I didnt have a...

    help with 12" displays

the existing display would definately have to go to the left, probably to the edge to get a second one in there. i'd end up going with a new overlay on the existing dash, i think thats a given if i put a second one in. A 9" might tuck in nicely below the VHF if a secoind 12 " won't fit.

    help with 12" displays

I found a picture of the dash area I'm working with. I'll be at the boat this weekend and I can get some actual measurements. The photo makes it look very close to get a second matching display in there. Could a second display be added from a different manufacturer? I was concerned about having...

    help with 12" displays

I'm trying to avoid putting the second display in the upper electronics box. I've seen one picture somewhere on the internet of a sailfish with 2 12" screens in the dash but it looks tight as hell. I'm not near my boat but once i get up there this week I'll take some measurements and I'm betting...

    help with 12" displays

Has anyone fit 2 12' displays in a 2006 282 sailfish helm station?? I have one raymarine E127 display in there now and I'd like to have a second one but it looks to be very, very close on whether or not it will fit. Any suggestions or experience you'd care to share would be appreciated!

If i had to guess id say that was the freezer section, I just opened the door and shot the temp with the IR thermometer. The weird thing is as i think of it the batteries had been switched off all week and looking at the wiring diagram in the manual that should de energize the fridge. If thats...

    2006 sailfish refrigerator

i just bought the boat last fall. Ther was a list of repairs generated during the purchase negotiations and survey. There are few items still left outstanding and some that have been tended to. The fridge is one of the items that had allegedly been repaired; I'm thinking it needs more attention.

    2006 sailfish refrigerator

i'm thinking the marina should fix it or replace it as they committed to. I am primarily looking to confirm what constitutes normal operation before i let thme know that it still needs attention. I did find the 120 volt conversion thread, thats very slick. If/when mine gets sorted out I'm...
