Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? (Bought it!!)

Re: Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? The 200 HP HPDIs are very good motors - You absolutly need clean fuel with these things (I think most outboards) I added clear racor 10 micron filters in place of the blue yamaha spin ons, and change every filter in the spring (Including the High...

Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? (Bought it!!)

Re: Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? Not all come with the boarding plateform (And mine was not predrilled)- I actually didnt want it as I saw it becoming a potential place to catch the line when fighting a big fish. To board the board I added a removable three rung post ladder and a...

Re: Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? The hours can be pulled by a yamaha tech - good advice is to have them perform a check on both motors. I have the exact same setup and absolutly love the boat! Every time I start to look for something bigger, and start comparing specs (livewell...

    2011 305 express

I am not sure why you were not comfortable in the 27'er? I take my 265 Express 110 miles one way offshore - I just pick the days carefully, carry the correct safety equipment, and am not afraid to cancel the trip last minute if the weather changes to less than perfect. NOAA Small Craft Advisory Question

Not sure if wind is the deciding factor for small craft with NOAA- A small craft is issued here in NewEngland often, and it usually is when the wave height is very close to the wave period - I have seen small crafts issued when seas were 3-5 foot - but the period was 3 seconds- I have also...
