    Engine Winterization Work

".but I understand there is a special adapter needed to attach to the intake." ------------------All you have to do when fogging is remove the spark plugs and spray directly into the cylinder..15 second bursts in each hole. turn the key for a couple of seconds with plugs still out and another...

    '05 Marlin Cockpit Bolsters

Thanks for all the info guys..there are some curvey pieces back there and i dont want to settle on a poor fit..I redid my sailfish many years back but I dont think I would attempt some of the crazy shape pieces on the Marlin. One thing though is im not too happy with the way it broke down.. a...

    Yamaha High Pitched Alarm Question

It sounds like the warning horn is sounding..Check your gauge when the horn sounds. might be overheating. When was the last time you changed the water pump? also check your oil. might be low..not sure but i think the horn sounds for a fuel restriction too.

    Who uses their generator?

Very first time I ever heard that :huh .. The only time I ever heard anything about running on plane when you have a genset is that the seacock must be closed when its not running..you risk flooding the unit with seawater.

    generator 33 grady 2003 GAS

I sometimes get a surge when i first fire it up while its on a load but it tends to level off after a few minutes. Key to these Gensets is you MUST RUN THEM!! Your not doing it a favor by letting it rest. I run it every week for about 1 1/2 hrs with a load. '05 300 Marlin F250's

    Problems with Garmin GPS

Start with the simple things first. Check your antenna plug back of the unit. Make sure its clean and all the pins are there. With the unit on give it a wiggle and see if anything changes.

    Fuel Gauges Stuck?

I just developed my own fuel gauge issue. For some reason my main tank only reads accurate from 1/2 to full. When its below 1/2 the blocks stay lit at 1/2. Not really sure whats going on or if there is even a reset. Most likely a problem with the float. Ill post the result when I narrow it down...

    First Offshore trip.

Dont count on 1.5 mpg when you run into unexpected slop. Also remember you dont have 148 "usable gallons"..Figure anywhere from 10-15 gal per tank I would consider "unusable"..Personally I would not feel comfortable going that far with 148 gal. When I run to the Hudson its about 73 miles to the...

    Auto-pilot

You cant go wrong with a Simrad. Just get the most basic one they offer and if you do the install yourself make sure you get the proper pump. No rudder feedback device is necessary (it tends to fail over time)...Good Luck. '05 300 Marlin F250's

bent danforth anchor and anchor guide

A few years back, when I had my 88 sailfish, I noticed something didnt look right on my pulpit. looked like someone coiled up my chain and left it on my bow. One of my dock neighbors said a bayliner a few boats down from me caught my anchor in his side cabin window and took it for a ride.my...

Yamaha tilt-support - do you use?

Not sure I agree with this theory because there is an even larger zinc piece that is bolted to the bottom of the outboard bracket that is always in the water when docked. '05 300 Marlin F250's

    Vacu-Flush Head

The duck bills are used when discharging overboard. Not when flushing the head. If one turned inside out all you would get is the pump working with no discharge. It wont trip a breaker.Mine turned inside out once(AND ONLY ONCE!!)when i went to discharge with the seacock closed. :-| '05 300...

    tying up on a beach

Most people at the beach we hang out on are very helpful. Its not uncommen for someone to walk up as your backing down on the sand and offer to walk your anchor to the beach....Here is an example of the way we do it..The bow is in about 6-8 ft of water here so theres not much need for adjustment.
