    Radar

Im not too familar with this unit but I have a Furuno CP/Radar that im very pleased with. From everything I've read and through experience you cant go wrong with a Furuno Radar and they do make units that are reasonably priced. '05 300 Marlin w/F250's

    auto pilot

Cant go wrong with either Simrad or TR1.I have the AP26 and it never let me down. Just make sure whatever you decide it has the virtual feedback device. The rudder feedback device tends to fail after a few years and its a pricey item to replace. If you have 2 steering rams make sure you get the...

My freshwater pump keeps going buuuurrrrrrpp!

I had a few loose ones too. One was behind a screwed in panal in the aft section on the stbd side. Others were right at the pump. Im getting a new buuurrp now but that was an easy find. The faucet at the rigging station is leaking and has to be replaced. '05 300 Marlin F250's

    Marlin Not Tracking Well

I really dont think shifting anything you may have in the bow to the stern is going to make any difference with that hull. Its a heavy boat. Like I said retract the trim tabs all the way up. Then trim up the outboards far enough that you can still get up on plane. Figure start with 2-3 blocks on...

    Marlin Not Tracking Well

Try bringing the trim tabs all the way up and trim the outboards up to get that bow out of the water. My guess is that you have too much bow digging into the water. That hull will blast right through a following 2-3 with ease. '05 300 Marlin F250's

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

The tech seems to really like the cruiseair. The design change does not allow as much sitting sea water in the unit which should limit corrosion problems. Also im going with the 8000btu unit and with the new/improved turbo fan blower he said it add another 1000 btu so im going from a 7000 to a...

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

Sooooo, the tech came to the boat today and confirmed my feeling all along...A $500 valve went bad and released all the freon. Would have been a $1400 repair bill but for about $900 more im going to replace the entire unit with a more powerfull and better designed cruisair with a 2 year...

    290 Chesapeake

Lets see some pics...BTW before buying new batteries I would confirm that the charger is in fact working and its the proper charger for your battery config. Also check the battery water level..No water and it wont charge. '05 300 Marlin F250's

    Want to purchase a 2006-2008 Marlin 30- ???

The F250 are a perfect fit for the Marlin. I would guess the F350 would just burn more fuel and decrease your range. 05 Marlin w/F250's

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

Re: Marine Air Problem Thanks for the ideas Scott. I'll be the first to admit I know very little about these A/C units. I posted my dilema on a marine A/C website and after explaining everything im experiencing the tech believes it either lost sea water or all of its freon. Unfortunatly these...

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

Re: Marine Air Problem There doesnt appear to be a reset button anywhere on the unit itself. I did a master reset from the panal but it didnt resolve it. The compressor still clicks on and water pumps out the side of the boat but no cold or warm air. I just made an appt with marine specialists...

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

Re: Marine Air Problem Im getting water pumping out of the hull and everything sounds normal while it is running.Just no hot or cold air. The thru hull seacock was open while the unit was on.I am hoping there is some sort of reset on the unit that will resolve this. Im gonna take a look and...

    Marine Air Problem**Update**

Has anyone ever had an issue with their A/C units? Just last week it stopped blowing cool and warm air but the pump still cycles and it sounds like the compressor is still kicking in. I was thinking possible freon leak but would there be a code at the panal if the freon was low and also would...

    Some Fish/Marlin Pics

Had another Awesome Offshore trip August 17th. Started with about 4 Bluefin keeping our 1 fish @ 80lbs. With the bite still on we decided to pick up lines and run to the Hudson Canyon. About an hour later we arrived at the tip and and dropped in the lures. Marked a ton of life and about an hour...

    Shore Power

If your not getting the green light that says power available at the panal, the first thing I would check is the breaker at the dock. Not sure where it is on the Sailfish but there is a breaker switch under the gunnell near the shore power outlet on my Marlin. I would check that too. When you...

Where would the Flux Gate Compass be in a 33 Grady Express

Re: Where would the Flux Gate Compass be in a 33 Grady Expre I would check under the aft cabin. Its recommended that it be installed as low as possible in the belly of the hull away from any metal that might affect its performance.
