    Rewiring my '29 204c

Doing this by yourself, or hiring a pro? Planning on replacing everything as-is, or upgrading to better technology? I did mine a couple of years ago, but i went overboard. Relocated batteries, added switch, isolator, charger, breakers, several fuse blocks, lighting, stereo, etc... I never...

    Count your blessings

I noticed the same thing as Bob... the boats in the slings fared way worse than the rest. From a couple of the photo's, it looks like the boats were pushed back out of the slings, or maybe floated up and back. Maybe a combination of high water and some waves? Either way, pretty ugly. Hope...

    Foward Fuel Tank Hatch

Yeah, mine doesn't necessarily look "factory." It does have the diamond pattern, and it is watertight, but it's really just too white and it sticks up above the deck a little bit. Originally, i was thinking of adding some type of watertight seal to the existing hatch, and cutting out the well...

New Rod Holders (No more rods in cabin!)

cd... 2 bimini's. The blue thing in the background is the cover. I dont have any pix here at work, I'll try to remember to get some from home tonight. I've got the typical factory bimini, then I have a 2nd that folds down and stores right in front of the factory top. When it's up, it has two...

    Foward Fuel Tank Hatch

I did mine 2 winters ago. I looked all over for a hatch that looked "factory," but to no avail. I used the space for batteries, switch & charger.... and there was still plenty of room for additonal storage. The hatch is a surface mount model. There are only a couple out there that are large...

New Rod Holders (No more rods in cabin!)

Yeah... I've got those, but I have to take the rods out to put the cover on and to trailer. I live in the woods... until i get out to the main road, the rods would hit tree branches (the windshield barely makes it).

New Rod Holders (No more rods in cabin!)

After breaking a tip off of one of my favorite rods (6'-6" Ugly Stik with a Penn 321LH), I decided to do something about my rod storage problem. I always keep them in the cabin when the boat is in the driveway with the cover on it, and when I trailer. The biggest problem was that I always end...

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

Thanks Catch. I had read before that the short actuator was 2" shorter than the long one... but didn't know how long the long one was. I posted to tabman on tht. If i dont hear back from him soon, I'll call customer service. I might need to call them anyway... all the online stores i've...

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

Thanks Seahunter. Looks like I'm going to have to cut into my swim platform with either size tab... but the 9x18's would be less obtrusive. Thanks again, Tim

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

Could any of you tell me what the mounting height of the actuator is above the actual tab. I dont have a whole lot of room, so i think that I might only have room for the 9x18's under the swim platform. Here's what i'm looking for... And here's a pic of my transom

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

Thanks guys. Catch... Did a search... didn't even think about searching for the 209. Thanks for the link. Very helpful. Probably going to use your vendor too... his price is right. I think I'm going to go with the M-120's. The 18's seem huge, and the 120's just look cooler. My only...

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

I'm looking to get a set of tabs. From the Bennett site, it looks like i want either 18x9's or M120's (10"x12"). Boat's an 86 204c with a Johnson 225 2-stroke. Hull is pre-Seav2. I'm assuming that I'll have to move or cut my swim platform for the actuator either way. Anybody have a review...

    Wierd Engine Problem

My guess is Catch22 hit the nail on the head... I've done it several times on my 10hp merc. Can you see in the tank? Any crap on the bottom? Is there an in-line fuel filter on the motor? It may be clogged. With a 10 gallon tank, I assume its a portable, you should be able to look inside...

    Max HP on 20ft Overnighter?

With fairly light load, just me in the boat, 1/3 tank of fuel, raggedy paint job on the bottom, 14-3/4x17 Viper prop, water conditions like glass, no wind, slack tide, and air temp in the mid 40's... I made it up to 48 mph on the GPS. Paddle wheel doesnt read for me over around 35 for some...

    20ft Overnighter with a single 120hp Force

Scott, Welcome aboard! Look around for a lightly used yamaha 200 HPDI. In my opinion, that is the best power option for the overnighters.

    test

88... nice ride, I'm jealous. I need a bigger boat, & a hardtop, & twins, & radar, & 4 blade props, & a SV-2... I guess i really just need a bigger wallet. :( Anyway... Ya done good on the pictures. One piece of advice... follow the link & download the file called ImageResizer.exe. Its on...

    20ft Overnighter with a single 120hp Force

Mine tops out at 44 with a full tank and 4 people on board. It is only rated for 230 hp, so a 250 is not an option, unless you swap out some stickers  I usually cruise around 35 mph... dont recall how many rpm's its turning. I hate winter. I had a 150 Merc (2 stroke) on it for a...

    test sailfish photo

Thanks TunaT... glad i finally got that figured out. And actually it's a sailfish my wife caught in Islamorada. One of 20 or so we caught on a half day trip out of Bud & Mary's. If you ever want to fish with a super-aggressive captian, look up George McElveen on the "Reel Mc-Coy." Without a...

Well, I think i figured it out... the problem was that I am a major idiot. lets see if it works this time... actually, if my theory is right, the original post should be viewable as well. Drum roll..... Tim
