    Windows staining the Gelcoat ..

Have you tried acetone to remove the streaks? Cheap and works on lots of stains. Will not harm your gelcoat either. I agree on a good wax when you remove the stains. That will make it easier to remove them each time they return. Keep her waxed.

Busted for riding on the bow

Thanks Ultrarunner. I figured the Tournament was designed for 2 passengers up there, but I just wanted to make sure it was safe. I have a 10 year old and 8 year old that have claimed the bow when we are out. They love sitting up there. They also have the bow rail to hold onto if they...

Busted for riding on the bow

I live in NC and have a 192 Tournament. Have 2 kids that ride up front all the time, but the Tournament seems to have safe seating in the bow. Never though of this before. Is this something I should not be doing unless going slow? I tend to let her rip with the kids up there in calm waters.

    Fisherman console mods

Regarding the plexi issue, Shurhold has a product called Buff Magic that will restore the plexi. However, you will need an orbital polisher. It works, but I doubt I would spend the money on an orbital just to test it out. If you have a polisher or can borrow one, then I would give the...

fuel capacity of '89 19 tournament

X2 on what Parthery said. Unless the tank has been replaced, it should be 60 gal. Even if it was replaced, why would they install a 30 gal. tank? That seems unlikely. Run your fuel way down and then fill her up. Let us know what you learn.

how often do you run WOT

I run my 192 Tournament with 200 hp Evinrude Ocean Pro at WOT whenever conditions allow. However, never for long periods of time. Will run it at WOT for a minute, then back her down to 4200 rpm or so. I will do that a couple of times each outing if conditions are good. Not sure why I do...

    A couple questions

With respect to question 1, NO, the 2 oil reservoir tanks do not coincide with each fuel tank. The oil reservoir tanks each serve one of the outboards. Others please verify, but that is my understanding of how it is set up.

Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on mooring

TonyD, yes there are numerous vendors that sell the Bimini tops online. Just plug in the year of your boat and select your canvas option, etc. The wife got me a gift card to Overtons a year ago and I used that to get the Bimini top for my 1994 192 Tournament. Fit perfect and looks great...

    Mods please close

Re: Needed to vent about a Grady White dealership experience I live in NC and have not heard anything negative about Atlantic. But I guess that doesn't mean much. This is an example of why I do pretty much all the work on my Grady. I agree with the previous poster that you probably need...

    228 Seafarer Headliner Adhesive

X2 on the 3m spray adhesive. Used this stuff 3 years ago for a similar repair and it it worked. Holding fast several years later. I think I picked some up at Home Depot. Cheap fix.

Hah! The funny thing is, I knew how to pronounce it but not how to spell "Tonneau". Wonder where that word came from. Meaning the tip or something? A word sailors use? Anyway, bow cover is a great alternative for cave men bone heads like me! :D

    Hello 2001 180 Sportsman

Welcome back to the Grady family! If your criteria is a small cc, the heck yeah you made the right choice. I prefer the dual console tournaments just because of seating flexibility and open rear cockpit, but that's just me. If you want cc, then you got a great little rig. Not sure about...

Recommended Canvas for Tournament 19 on mooring

Dennis is right. The 192 tournaments came with a cockpit cover option, or you can have one made. They snap to the windshield frame, then down the port and starboard sides to the back of the boat, then across transom. Looks neat and clean. My 192 has all the snaps installed, but...

    272 Sailfish Scuppers

I would email Grady. They will get you the exact specs on what they used. You can also request the build sheet for your year boat. I emailed them about scuppers and thru hulls on my 1994 tournament and had the specs within 2 business days. Good luck!

    Less expensive fuel additive

Thanks for the input Dennis. SeaFoam has been around forever. I also use it to decarb the old 2 stroke. I usually buy it up when they have sales at the auto stores. I have seen where you can buy one, get the second at half price. Usually buy a bunch when I can get that kind of deal...

    Buff and Wax?

Not only does the sea look like Glass, your hull does too. :) Very nice looking Grady! With an impressive shine.

    Less expensive fuel additive

What about using Seafoam to treat the fuel? I have always used that to treat the fuel for my 200 hp Ocean Pro and have never had problems. Boat sits all winter as well. I try to get it on sale, but it's not cheap. Just wondering the difference between Seafoam and Startron.
