Is 11 Years in Storage A Concern?

I agree with Parthery except for rebuilding the carbs and water pump. I purchased my 1994 192 Tournament in 2012. It sat in storage outside since 1997. 15 years! Has a 1994 evinrude Ocean Pro. Threw new plugs in there, lubed the cylinders as described by Parthery, new fuel in the tank...

    Buff and Wax?

Agree with Dennis on this one. The hull should already look like glass when you get to the step of applying FinessIt. Something is wrong with your process. I used your identical buffer and wool pad, so that can't be the issue.

    New to great grady

Welcome Mitchell and congrats on your new Grady. You will find answers to just about any Grady question you have here. Also, Grady customer service is awesome, even if your boat is used and an older model. They have answered questions for me regarding my 1994 Tournament. Enjoy the boat...

    Buff and Wax?

I agree with Dennis that something is missing here. Your hull may be oxidized more than you thought. Does the hull look white? If so, you are probably heavily oxidized. The process I used to restore my hull to that Grady cream color (off white or whatever it is) was to first wet sand with...

    Replacement emblem? Help!!!

Garzon Studios will make anything you need. They have a full line of engine decals for all major brands. I also used them when I repainted my Evinrude OceanPro. If they don't have what you need online, just email them. They will send you a proof before they run the final. I will...

minimum hp for GW 19' tournament

Sorry for double posting. If cost is an issue, which it is for me (3 kids and all that comes with that) then you may want to wait a bit and pull the trigger when you can afford the right sized motor. But again, I think if you look at a used 2 stroke, you could find enough juice for a great...

minimum hp for GW 19' tournament

Why would you under power this boat ? They are tanks. I have a 1994 192 Tournament with a 200 hp Evinrude Ocean Pro. Runs great on this hull. Not sure about the 4 stroke, but I would opt for the larger 2 stroke. 150 to 200 hp. Get one used. The new Freedoms have a 150 4 stroke, but...

    Marlin 300 - Evinrude G2 * Updated 4/1/15

Did not like the look of these new Evinrudes. But, I gotta say they look sweet on your Grady. Good color choice as well. Very nice. Now I need to see an all white version on the back of a Grady. Do they even make these in the Evinrude white? By the way, it's probably been posted...

Good luck! Grady's are tough boats and they clean up nice. I bought mine in 2012 and the last registration sticker on the boat was dated 1997! She sat for at least 10 years. I removed all stripes and logos, wet sanded with 800 then 1000. Then compound with power buffer and wax. The...

Nice Grady. Love the layout of this model. Congrats! Time to break out the compound to get rid of the scum line. She looks too good to splash without a good compound and waxing. Enjoy!

The carbed Ocean Pro is bulletproof. Great outboard. I have a 1994 Evinrude Ocean Pro 200 hp. Purchased the rig used about 3 years ago. Didn't even fire the engine up prior to purchase. The seller was straight up. I didn't check compression until I got her home either. I believe...

    Stainless Steel cup holders

I replaced the cup holders on my Tournament with these 2 seasons ago. Love them. Look great an have held up great. However, they were not an exact fit for me. My holes were a bit too big. I have seen some posts about placing a bead of silicone or similar to hold them in place when this...

Slight correction to my previous post. It is "Garzon" studios not Garson. Good luck!

    Replacement emblem? Help!!!

I have used Garson studios in the past with great results. Do a google search for them. They will replicate any boat logo and outboard logo. They have exact replicas for the major manufacturers. Redid my Grady and Evinrude logos at least 2 years ago and they still look new.

    Spring Cleaning.

For what it is worth, I heard that Magic Eraser contains bleach in it. I don't like using it on my walls at home because I can always tell the area of wall where it has been used. It removes the stain but also leaves wipe marks on the wall. Never used it on the Grady though. May give it...

    Sticker removal?

I agree that a heat gun is the way to go. This worked great for me. Removed all stripes and logos on my 1994 tournament. I used a little plastic scraper to pick up the edges after heating. It is a pain of a job for sure, but the heat gone works wonders. Any leftover residue from the...

Ready for Summer. Go away Snow

I always cover my Grady in central NC, despite the lack of snow on an annual basis. We got hit with 6 inches on Thursday in the Raleigh Durham area. The cover handled it fine. I just went out the next day and knocked the snow off. Anyway, I like to keep the rain, pollen, dirt, etc. out...
