Why Is My 192 So Heavy

I've had problems finding the right prop for my recently purchased '97 192 Tournament. I put a new E-Tec 150 on it but am having trouble reaching the recommended WOT rpm. Now down to a 15P Rebel prop but still only getting 4,900 WOT. Evinrude dealer says the boat might be "waterlogged" and to...

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

Bilge pump is working. There has been no water at all getting in to the bilge after being on the water 3 1/2 months. It has been bone dry. That is what I liked about Grady's. Rain drains off the deck through the stern scuppers without entering the bilge. Have tilted the boat numerous times...

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

The motor was mounted on the top hole, deepest in the water. Just had it raised one hole with no change to the WOT max rpm. Still around 4900. I've been going round and around on the Etec site looking for suggestions. They said to raise it also which is why I did it. Now that the engine is...

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

I took the seller at his word. The boat was in his family since new and was bought by his father. They didn't use the boat much, stored it on its trailer, launched and recovered it for most of its life. Seller inherited from his father and just wasn't using the boat much. That's why he was...

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

I'm a G/W newbie who bought this boat last spring, bought a new 150 Etec for it and am now being told that by my Evinrude dealer that because the new 150 Etec he put on with a 14 3/4 x 17 Viper prop can only get 4900 rpm WOT, the boat must be waterlogged. He says he's never had to put less than...

Best Prop for '97 192 with ETec 150

Installed a new Etec 150 on a '97 192 Tournament. Combination seems perfect except, perhaps, for the prop. The Evinrude dealer put a 14 3/4 x 17 SS prop on the motor but I only get around 5000 rpm WOT with the canvas on. That seems to indicate I should try a 16p to get the rpm up. Questions...

    192 Tournament Replacement Horn - Can't Find

You're a good man Parthery. I just emailed Fin Addict for a quote. Thanks for the help! By the way, you helped me as a Newbie with my first post on another subject but suggested that I need to post a photo, "boat porn" as you called it. I'm a brand new Grady owner and my boat is the smallest...

    192 Tournament Replacement Horn - Can't Find

Seems that my best option is to make a replacement horn plate out of starboard as mentioned above. The current plate is 4.5 x 4.5". Does anyone know what the right starboard color would be to match the Grady White white?? Also, what's the least expensive way to obtain a small plate like that...

    192 Tournament Replacement Horn - Can't Find

I just bought a '96 192 Tournament with horn that doesn't work. Called our local GW dealer who told me GW can't furnish a replacement anymore; the manufacturer is no longer around. It's the square type. Has anyone had to replace one and can tell me what they used??

    192 Tournament - is 150 HP enough?

Just bought a '96 GW 192. Is a 150 marginal? Should I consider a 200? Getting prices on an Evinrude Etec 150 but also thinking of a 200. Quite a bit more $ though. Will a 150 pull skier OK or carry 4-5 adults without taking forever to get out of the hole?

Brand New G/W Owner - Needs Help on 192

I've decided to repower with a 150 Evenrude E-Tec 150. Was able to sell the original Mercury 200 that came with it. I am going to install hydraulic steering with the new engine. That should take care of the stiff helm problem. Still need info on the deck design for installing the new seat...

Brand New G/W Owner - Needs Help on 192

Just purchased a '96 192 Tournament. Had my heart set on this boat for use as day-night, rain-shine transportation to a boat-access-only camp in the Adirondacks (about a 5 mile ride from camp to marina). I want to make some improvements and need advice: 1) I want to replace the standard port...
