Best Marine Insurance rates (I could find)....NBOA

Apples for apples. $1000 deductible against all major Ins. companies NBOA by far was less expensive (for me and alot of boaters on THT). Their website tells who they are backed by...which I think is American Bankers or something close to this??? Which is supposed to be a large marine...

    2003 Grady White Sailfish Purchase

Rarely, but, there are a few Exhaust Corrosion problems on 02 and 03 F225's. This is a 3K fix per engine. Have certified Yamaha mechanic do a leak down test and check for water in the engine oil and lower unit. If you are really concerned....drop the lower unit and visually inspect for...

Best Marine Insurance rates (I could find)....NBOA

Fellow Grady Owners, I have absolutely no affiliation with this company whatsoever, but, just had to post this great find. Found out about NBOA on The Hull Truth forum and a lot of people have switched over to them. My example, Marlin 31'with NBOA is less than my single engine 23'...

    Bahamas Crossing Safety Question

Watershark, On charts, this trip seems short. It is not....not to mention a full family crossing. I just left Freeport and can tell you that if anything happens near the Grand Bahama waters.....you and your family will have to be self sufficient. It's doubtful they will send a tow vessel...

    Wax or Polish?

If you always use wax then it doesn't sound like you have any oxidation. Polish removes oxidation and light blemishes but needs to be followed up with wax. 1 coat each every 6 months or depending on use of your boat and storage.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

Thanks ElyseM! GW couldn't have been nicer in explaining I lacked super human strength.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

GW called me this morning and said the boat is moving slightly on the rack. My fault for not having someone look while I was pushing up on Rub Rail. This explains why the Bow of the boat did not move.....it's an illusion from a single point of perspective. Still my fault.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

Not inclined to post pics since GW is looking at what I observed. I'm leaving this to the experts. Maybe this is within load tolerances of the design. Outstanding support on the 330 repair. I'll bet only a handful of manufacturers are stepping up to that service level in this economy.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

It was on one those Grady White VS Boston Whaler threads or Grady White value threads. Actually, I think it is buried in the Grady White vs Hydra Sports thread. Someone claimed to know a GW executive that said the Marlin transom was redesigned at some point due to 'visibly flexing' of the transom.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

No stress cracks ANYWHERE on the boat. It has less than 175 hours on boat and engines. It has a unique history and has been captain maintained all it's life. Not sure if it ever experienced anything over 3' seas.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

Thanks! You have helped me in the past as well. Survey came back structurally 100%...my guy even climbed into the bilge (tight fit). Not sure if anyone actually tests for hull flex. No, I'm not superman and consider myself 20 pounds overweight. Yet, I am still able to vertically push...

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

Yes, I moved the entire boat 3" by hand pressure. I purchased the boat used and have no relation with the Grady Dealer where it currently resides. I'm calling Grady White Corp. today. The other Forum is The Hull Truth.

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

I read in earlier posts on another forum of this issue about 6 months ago. Never put 2 and 2 together until 3 weeks ago. I was concerned about the narrow rack my Marlin is stored on at a Grady dealer. Pushed up on the stern rub rail and sure enough it moved vertically 3". Assumed it was...

    Arm rest replacement

Most chair arm rest sizes are the same on Gradys. Anyone have suggestions how to purchase and replace one? I am told Grady has some type of sleeve repair but nowhere near looking stock.

    Permanent A/C installation....anyone tackled this?

Ah ha......now that makes sense and explains why everyone is suggesting the tap. I can now stop smashing my head. Thx!

    Permanent A/C installation....anyone tackled this?

Why another tap into the hull? I already have 3 and feel this is way too many for going 100 miles offshore with over night.

    Underwater lights anyone?

It's how some catch their baitfish without netting in the morning. Couple unattended Sabiki's over the sides with a little chum bag. 4 beers later and voila.....bait fish.

    Underwater lights anyone?

There are lights available that do not require drilling. I'm guessing 5200 bonding material will hold at least 5+ years. You'll have 2 wires coming above waterline then drill through transom. You lose lifetime wood warranty if you tap into the transom below waterline.

    Permanent A/C installation....anyone tackled this?

Thanks Bob!!! Understood everything except for the thru hull "on the other side of the keel". Are you saying I have to drill another hole in the Hull for saltwater intake? Couldn't I just tap into the Head intake?
