Treat a Holding Tank Regularly ?

Blue Marine/RV toilet treatment. plenty of brands out there. I flush it in the head. Empty tank As Soon As Practical after someone has used it. Fill & flush once in a while. DO NOT use regular toilet paper. Get RV/Marine toilet paper. DO NOT let anyone use "Flushable wipes". They are...

Can anyone help me find Grady White decals

My suzukis have the raised letters. FYI, fishing line WILL get caught on them more often than you would think.

    Battery Configuration and Size

I agree that any "battery to motor" connection problem would cause starting problems before it would cause Tilt trim problems. not familiar with your motor but they tend to be similar. There is probably a fuse panel in the motor and a fuse for the PTT. I would pull it and check for corroded...

Chase 273 hydraulic steering hose help needed

Fishtales mentioned the metal hydraulic lines. Some models (I thought much older than 2006 and I/Os) had metal tubing below deck. You would probably then have short hoses in the motorwell going to bulkhead fittings.

Chase 273 hydraulic steering hose help needed

2 ft too long is better than an inch too short. You need a nice wide bend out thru the bulkhead . The excess usually lays down near the stringers. That assumes the hoses come out the stbd side and don't come out in the center. Some models do that. Do you have autopilot? or power assist? If...

Field replaceable fittings for SeaStar 5/16ID hose

update: These replaceable fittings have been perfect on my autopilot for many years now

Chase 273 hydraulic steering hose help needed

Couple of things. You need to verify what type of hose and cylinder you have. Probably Seastar 5/16 od 1000psi hose...but could be Seastar PRO rrated 1500 PSI for Tournament PRO cylinders. You have to verify that you have uninterupted hoses from helm to cylinder. Sometime hoses go thru the...

    200hr service

I would replace the internal anodes. If you are going to look at them , might as well replace. You need new o-rings and I would have a spare screw too

    200hr service

I don't think the maintenance is any different on the mechanical motors except I would inspect the shift & throttle cables and grease the linkage. Maybe empty the ash tray and see if the lighter still works... a picture of the page in the manual would help.

How much Epoxy for 228 Tank Cover Repair

Get a gallon of epoxy and a quart of hardener and the pumps. Get some high densiity filler and some low density "fairing" filler. You can't go wrong. You own a boat...you will use it.... Start buying Won Ton soup for lunch and save the containers. Cheaper than buying mixing containers. You...

Garmin Transducer choices for Canyon 271

So, you have a typical grady SeaV2 hull. No steps in hull. what I'm saying is you can mount just one GT51 thru hull on the centerline. here is my 265 (very similar in size to your 271). I cannot see any good reason why you would spend for two GT51s. I can't imagine that you don't have...

Garmin Transducer choices for Canyon 271

No need to buy two GT51s. I have a GT51M-TH on the centerline with no fairing. Works much much better than a TM at speed. But a TM works perfectly well for finding wrecks/rocks and you would save money. I think your perfect choices would be a GT51M-TM on the centerline for bottom fishing...

    New Overnighter, new transom

My V20 already had the scuppers out the sides but I did move the deck drain from "in the deck" to "on the bulkhead". This was because there was always a little wtaer that would not go down the drain due to the lip of the fitting. If you move the scuppers, you have to get it right. look at the...

Spark Plug Maintenance on Yamaha 2 Strokes

the rings are supposed to squish. I never use a torque wrench on plugs...1/4 to 1/2 turn past tight is what everybody does. Like seasick said, with the new vs reinstall... If you don't get your torque wrench calibrated evry year and after evrytime you drop it, it is really just wishfull...

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

yep, they are designed for UW recording not live video. Probably best to go with the thing designed to do what you want. Here in NJ a look-down camera wouldn't be much good with the visibility. Over the years I have some great UW video & pix with a Hero4 using half a fishing rod as a stick...

    garmin navionics +/vision

Interesting thing about the relief maps. Here in NJ last year there were a lot of those hi res scan tracks added. It looked like they probably came from the offshore wind surveys because thats where they were. They tow a sonar array that scans a wide swath much like your sidescan. They...
