Yes, you can use a barrell latch, but they have no give if they go through the glass on the sides. Sooner or later, someone's not paying attention when they raise the motor, and you end up with a busted wave gate, or motor cowling.
Disconnect the Blue and green wires from the tilt motor at the relay. Ground your multimeter to the black post, you should have 12 V on red, zero on blue and green. When you hit the up switch, you should have 12 V on blue and zero on green. When you hit the down switch, you should have 12 V on...
I talked to Bobby for about 15 minutes this morning. The plan had been for him and his wife to fly to Orlando on Friday to attend a football game, and spend a couple of days with their son Cole. When they got to the Asheville airport, flights were canceled due to a lack of power, so they decided...
When I bought the boat in 2020, it had been sitting for a while, with the cabin window on the starboard side not latched in the aft corner. You can see the black line where water dripped in and kept wetting two of the cushions, causing the fabric to deteriorate in the area. The foam is good. If...

The pump which only feeds the gunnel faucet is probably a high-pressure washdown pump, and the other pump is probably just a regular water supply pump.
With the pumps running, stick the end of a hose to the open faucets, and see what happens when you prime the lines.
Check the polarity at the...
Don’t cut the end off of a good hose. If you have an old washing machine hose, cut one end off of it. They are usually smaller diameter, and you can see how far you can shove it down the fill to check for kinks or clogs.
Took me a long time to figure this out, and maybe you are having the same issue. The freshwater fill on my seafarer is on the front of the helm passenger seat box.
Just like the gas fill, the fill tube and the vent are in the same fitting under the cap.
Putting water straight in floods the vent...
If that is the compartment between the jump seats, I see a couple of 185’s for sale online, which have a standpipe in that compartment rather than just a drain, so my guess is yes.
