    Switch panel plate

Well when you start on the panel getting a new one is relatively easy and inexpensive. You then have to look at your 20+ yo switches and covers. And then do you want to use the old jumper wires? NewWire can do all this for you in whatever increment you choose.

    Switch panel plate

Maybe. Call them. They make switch panels for a lot of older boats. They may have the template. All you really need is a photo of someone else's panel, the opening dimensions and the order of your switches. Switch dimensions are standard. They also have a design tool on their web site...

How much Epoxy for 228 Tank Cover Repair

For someone DIY stay with West System. They are an epoxy company with lots of related products. It's not really that expensive. You could do it quarts of 105 resin and return what you don't open. Same with smaller harder. I would put a layer of loose fiberglass mat between the top and the...

How much Epoxy for 228 Tank Cover Repair

Pickup a gallon of 105 epoxy resin. I used West System products from my local shop. The are two hardeners - 205 fast and 206 slow. I would recommend using the 206 slow. Epoxy curing is an exothermic reaction. I have had large quantities of mixed epoxy in container almost catch fire! The slow...

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

The ideal camera would be a wired waterproof pan, tilt, zoom that you could control from your plotter. I have not seen one of those. I may try the Reef Scope. Unfortunately it's fixed. The affordable drones take great video but the live video is lower resolution. Not sure how they would work out.

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

Camera worked for 2 days at the dock. Went to use it offshore wouldn't power on. May be water damaged. I owned 3 GoPro cameras at the start of this project. What started as a simple "lets use what you have" project turned into an engineering project. As I worked thru one problem I ran into...

Under paint corrosion on Canyon 336 T-top.

Make sure you use a aluminum etch primer on the clean aluminum. Then use a primer compatible with the paint. Are you sure your aluminum is painted and not power coated?

Under paint corrosion on Canyon 336 T-top.

I refinished my aluminum tower, rocket launchers and enclosure track a few years ago. Really came out great and has been wearing well. Aluminum was blasted by a local guy. Sprayed Awlgrip Aluminum etch primer (yellow) ASAP to seal aluminum. 2 coats of Awlgrip Epoxy Primer (white) and 3 coats of...

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

These were problems to solve with the camera even before it went in the water. If you are using the camera for HDMI the orientation is locked. You need a GoPro Labs firmware mod to rotate it 180 degrees if the camera mount is to be used on the top of the camera. Anyway project on hold! I put...

GoPro live underwater 1080p feed to Garmin 8612 chartplotter

Using the GoPro so far has been a real challenge. I had to go back to a GoPro 7 (built-in mico-HDMI vs media mod which won't fine in an underwater case). Custom firmware modifications to control the camera orientation. Battery had to be removed to prevent overheating (on power cord it charges...

Replacement seat back - GW supplier info?

Lost my seat back along I-95 on the way to FL. Does anyone know who GW used to fabricate upholstery back in 1997? Wanted to check to see if they had templates and could make one. Alternative is someone locally. Unfortunately all my equipment and materials are in NJ. I found a few posts for A...

Those "tracks" that you see offshore are from the bottom mapping scans. They mapped high resolution tracks over earlier low resolution map. This added more detail to interesting bottom areas - like where a Russian sub might hide! Inshore areas are mapped differently - not sure how it's done...

Doesn’t look like 4k to me… The screen resolution of an iPad depends on the model and size of the iPad. For example, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch has a resolution of 1366 x 1024 pixels, while the iPad Mini 6 has a resolution of 1133 x 744 pixels. Screen resolutions for different iPad models iPad Pro...

Not exactly true but you are on the right track. An iPhone and your iPad (probably) are not 4k displays. The 9000 units are 4k. If you can afford a $10,000 display why not buy a second one instead of screwing at round with a half-assed solution? If it would fit in my boat I would do it tomorrow...
