Local Grady White Dealer will not work on my Outboard

I am curious on injectors...sending out to service vs replacing with new one's from ebay? Here is a set for example for my HPDI 200's. A full set of 6 for $81 bucks? Has anyone tried these and what are your thoughts on using these over servicing the originals...

Goose, any pics of how it is mounted on your Marlin? Maybe I missed it in some other posts?

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

For sure, would not want that to happen! Yikes! Seems one could be made to secure it though that would be secure. Just thinking outloud......

    Rhodan on a 226 Seafarer

I wonder, maybe this is a crazy question, but can these motors be stored upright instead of layed down? Use the depth color to store it upright, maybe not when running offshore or in rough water, but for sure when docking?

    Swim Platform Sealant

I use the GE Silicone II in Almond. For the swim platform, it has a lot of flex and over time, will seperate/crack open. I have just resealed existing and it holds up for about a year. Last time, I switched over to the 3M 4000 UV and it is holding up better so far. The GE Silicone II which is...

    Sailfish 282 Repower to Single?

I would be worried more about running an inlet when it turns sour. That is a lot of hull in the water to lose the torque of 2 wheels down to just one. Also, I think the resale would drop out if ever concerned with that as if I was looking for a 28 and had a single, I would just keep looking. I...

    Anchor Light

If I left mine up, it would be gone in 5 minutes due to trees. My radar barely misses most, but that is only due to me driving certain routes that have higher trees. My light pole has to be higher than the radar dome to be seen. My radar is even flush mounted!

    Sailfish 272 Head issues

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention. I got it from West Marine for the head specifically. I bet it is over 8 years old by now.

    Sailfish 272 Head issues

Just had the same issue with my Groco HF series manual pump. I ended up purchasing a whole new head, same model as it is a compact series and didn't want to fool with refit. Tested in the water, all good and pumped water. First time use, paper totally clogged up in the bronze pipe, before it...

Handrails and Rust...... How to address

I store my caulks in the refrigerator and get at least 6 months out of them. If not, like you said, rock hard in very short order.

    Anchor Light

I have this same problem with my 252G and also with the antennas. I made a 2x2 piece of lumber and drilled in the end to match up with the design of the knob on the light. I can unscrew the knob with the 2x2, lift the light up and then tighten with the 2x2. I also use this same 2x2 to break...

Installing Swim Ladder - what type of caulking needed?

All true what the others have said how to install. I did the recore on mine, I used the Pro Balsa with Epoxy and anywhere there was a bolt, screw, etc, is filled with epoxy to ensure no water to the balsa core. Turned out great.

Too Short to See Over Windshield! Step Suggestions?

For my 252G, I purchase the 3/4" thick foam exercise mats from Amazon and glue them together with Contact Cement. For me, I make it 1-1/2" thick, so double layer. That makes it about right for me and is great for shock absorbing. I taper the edges with a saw to reduce the trip hazard. I have...

    Repowering a 25ft sailfish

I have a '92 model Sailfish with twin 2006 200 HPDI's. I can't imagine less power since we have really tough inlets and seas in my area and need the torque to push through. I love the instant take off and top speed. I just ran 45 miles back home this past weekend at 40mph with no problem. Top...

HPDI 200 - how smooth should it run at low RPM?

Seasick, you got me thinking a bit deeper. Got in a new set of plugs. I found a wire type gauge and checking the plugs, I discovered something I had not caught onto..... The side electrodes are not flat, the edge is curved so it aligns with the center electrode being in the shape of a cylinder...

Wow, maybe they are getting our normal NC weather! This Saturday might be the first time this year I can go offshore. Less than 3ft. Hope it stays....
