    Starboard, marine plywood or ?

I took the same bulkhead out in one piece on my 208 - brought it to a guy who used it as a template. I used 3/4 starboard

    Motorwell drains

Anyone ever change any of these? One of the original ones on my 208 needs to be replaced so Im thinking of doing the pair. I've seen how the brass ones are installed with the rolled lip. I would like to upgrade to the Gemlux brand. They look really nice and reasonably priced

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Are you thinking of securing some azek to the dimensional lumber to use as a skid? If thats the case I would probably use countersunk screws of some kind in addition to the 4200.

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Wanted to update this : So the Azek that I first glued in I guess I wasnt liberal enough with the 4200- those pieces came off. The ones that I used a generous amount of 4200 are stuck very well. Moral of the story - Use plenty of 4200 to glue up Azek. LOL Tank is in and secured. I will try...

Anyone know where to get these hatches?

I am not too fond of the dual latches. I think I could live with the look otherwise. As far as the cutout size and the screw holes so close to the edge of the original frame, I think you may be right. Only way is to pull it out and get some good cutout and overall O.D dimensions. Thanks for the...

Anyone know where to get these hatches?

May try this one from flea-bay. It looks like it might work on the port side.

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

To be quite honest, I didn't sand it, I had some laying around in the shop. I ripped it, shaped it and glued it. And used a good bead of 4200 I might add BTW Dennis, the tank is a bit beefier than I also thought it was gonna be. This was a good project for me and the boat too. The boat has...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

well the good news is I got home and "tried" to pull the Azek pieces off. I could rock the boat on the trailer by pulling on them, so I dont think they are coming off too easy :)

This I'll keep in mind. As a former auto mechanic sometimes I have to stop myself from tightening thing too much :)

Did you pre-drill an undersized hole first for the screw? I have run into the situation you describe assembling other stuff so I know what you mean. I'll give it a "pull test" when I get home to see what kind of adhesion I got. Hopefully I didnt over do it with the 4200

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Those are the original strip that were there, and yes there were just two of them just like you see them. There are basically just like a smaller version of the rubrails seen on boats made specifically to keep the tank off the deck. The old tank showed absolutely no sign of corrosion or...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

I did glue the pieces in the corners a couple of days ago and they seem to be stuck on pretty good. The straight pieces I glued yesterday and I will take off the clamps when I get home today, hopefully with the same results. I will point out that the removable deck will have the screws holding...

Anyone know where to get these hatches?

I guess the red lines are a little deceiving. The hasps are fine, its the frame that is broken on the corners. May have to make em as you say, Good winter project, I would love to just route them out of a solid piece of Starboard
