    info on a 1994 25' sportbridge

I looked at them closely a while back. If I recall with outboard bracket and that engine setup you should reach at least 35 knots with clean bottom. I would guess you could cruise at 25-27 knots getting about 1.1-1.2 nmpg. If you reach out to Grady, they may still have performance reports...

    New To The Site!

Welcome to the sight and congrats on the new boat. As far as the Bahama run goes, the Florida guys may be able to offer more help.

Where are you mounting your life raft?

When heading offshore at night I leave mine in the helm area below the front of the passenger bench seat. When daytime fishing we keep it on the floor of the cabin. Grady suggested not to mount any liferaoft on the hardtop.

    Sorry about the Spammers

I am probably not alone on this, but I assumed you were very busy with other things. Never knew there were so many that wanted to corrupt a boating site? Thanks for what you do on this site.

    Drain plug seized

I am not aware of 'marine grade' teflon tape either. I use teflon tape regularly at work, we prefer Laco Slic-Tite. It is thicker than most and has less of a tendency to tear apart as you crank things tight. With the Laco Slik-Tite, you only need two or three wraps at most.

F250's on my '92 Marlin Fuel Burn

I used to spin Yamaha SWSII 15 1/4 (or is it 15 1/2) x 19" ss props. I did a lot of research and ended up speaking with Ken at Propgods, together we agreed on the Powertech OFS. The Mercury Rev 4 have as good or better reputation, but they were also about 1.5 times the cost. For the record...

F250's on my '92 Marlin Fuel Burn

    Oh, I guess I need to read a little better before responding. Did not want to derail the thread. Here are my performance numbers: RPM SPEED (MPH) Tabs GPH MPG 600 3.3 - 1.4 2.36 1000 6.1 - 2.5 2.44 1500 8.3 - 3.7 2.24 2000 9.1 Full 6.0 1.52 2500 13.0 Full 8.4 1.55 3000 15.0 Full 10.8 1.39...

How many lines do you troll?

We typically troll 7-9 when we are offshore. For stripers we troll two, three or four depending on how hard we have to work for them.

F250's on my '92 Marlin Fuel Burn

I think Tucker is interested in the propellers I use. I posted the numbers when I swapped to Powertech a few years ago, they perfrom quite well. I am especially happy with the fact that I can cruise at such a wide range or rpms and achieve decent economy.

F250's on my '92 Marlin Fuel Burn

I am swinging 15x19 four blade Powertech props. Very happy with the performance, in most conditions we can run from 3800 to 4600 rpm and get at least 1.3mpg. Even at short full throttle bursts we still get at least 1.0mpg. Top speed was 46mph (at 5700) over the weekend with a four man crew...

F250's on my '92 Marlin Fuel Burn

I get as bad as 1.0 mpg in heavy seas when the boat is loaded with gear, regardless of what my cruising speed is. With a relatively light load I was able to get 1.5mpg in 1 foot seas most of this past weekend. At best I get 1.6mpg in calm seas with a light load. (note, that this is statute...

    Where is my water heater?

Not sure it is the same as a 2006 Marlin, but mine is under the stbd. seat. I can get to mine by removing the four tackle drawers and reaching though back of the tackle station. Pretty easy to drain for the winter. Hope this helps.

    VC17M Bottom Paint

Many years ago I stripped the paint off of my 1992 24' Explorer, added VC Tar epoxy and covered that with VC17 sprayed from an airless sprayer. As a result, the bottom was very smooth and the boat was very fast. I was able to match the Grady test reports with an aluminum propeller (they used a...

    Teak and Holley Sole Replacement

Mine is a little more than five years old and looks pretty good. I'm not sure how it was installed originally, but I guess I'll find out some day. Sorry I could not offer any help.

    2006 330 express

I have an 06 Marlin with the same engines. Loaded for an overnight canyon run (on the way out) we do about the same speed as you, but only spin at 4400 or thereabouts while burning about 25gph. I know your boat is three feet longer, about a foot wider and much heavier but your numbers don't...

    Battery Drain

If you own or can borrow a DC amp meter you can locate the culprit pretty easily if there is a constant draw. The amp meter will detect a draw on the offending wire (you must check each wire individually). I'm also guessing bilge pump, but I've seen some transducers wired so they are powered...

    replacing Guest 2722-B battery charger

This is the response I received from Guest: The 2722-b is still available but would be a special order from one of our distributors. Our chargers might be a little small for this group of batteries You should have 10 amps per battery. My suggestion would be rather 2 of the 2620a use one per set...

    replacing Guest 2722-B battery charger

Funny you ask. Mine also just failed in my 06 Marlin. I gather our 2722 chargers are not thought of too highly in the boating world. I emailed Guest and Charles this morning looking for a recommendation, have not heard back yet. I'll post when I get a response from either one. On a...

    F250s on a 300 marlin 2006 Temperture

I have experienced the same results. If I remember correctly, both of my temperature gauges sit at or one bar to the left of the middle most of the time I am operating the boat. When I run the boat hard (4500rpm or above) in warm water I have seen both bar gauges go one bar to the right of...
