Promariner,
In reference to the PM12 Gen 2 charger I installed...My configuration is (2) dual purpose deep cycle group 24 batts, isolated with a 1/2/Both/Off switch so I never run both batts simultaneously. The manual and charger identify (1) set of leads as being the starting battery...
Hey guys, sorry I checked out for a while....work doesnt seem to let up.
Bluewater towers, the owner's name is Scott 561-315-0005
The work is stellar and I intend to have him do a crows nest for me in the near future.
In all fairness I dont want to publish the price (pm me instead if...
I have a 1998 Yamaha 200hp SWSII, the carb'd engine. It has relatively low hours (estimated 250-350) most of which have been put on my myself in the last 1.5 yrs. Engine has been trouble free, meticulously serviced and well cared for.
With these oil injected carb'd engines I know one of the...
I have a 98' 208, the original switches & breakers themselves have started going bad one by one. You can pull off the panel and check the voltage on the backside with a meter. I plan on replacing the panel when I get the time. Should have started it last week when the wind picked up, looks...
CJ,
Question about that roller on a 208 with no pulpit:
Does this allow you to secure your anchor to the bow when not anchored?
If so how does your chain drop into the locker? Did you enlarge the hole the rope feeds through when the locker door is closed?
First time removing thermostats on my 98' yamaha 200 SWSII; When i went to remove the 2 thermostat covers the bolts came out fine but the covers were stuck.
Without knowing exactly how they slide off I was hesitant to torque them.
Can anyone provide some direction or tips on how to get these...
Dont forget to do this with the engine tilted up enough to slide the shaft completely out. Learned this the hard way the first time i pulled the lower unit, no problems, just a hassle.
Finished school, got employed, and purchased my 1st grady at 23yrs old. That was a year ago. Don't see myself changing boats untill a Sailfish or 265 (or Contender 31FA) winds up in my price range.
In the meantime there is not another boat in its size range that even comes close. At 11yrs...
I also have a 98' Grady with the rocker breaker switches. The switches are basically going bad one at a time. Right now I have 6/10 functional and have even taken them apart to try and diagnose the problem.
Using a meter the best I can tell is that the breakers are losing contact but not...
Congratulations and nice boat! Feel free to post some pictures of the new ride.
1. Good question, wish my boat was big enough to have one.
2. I installed a new ProMariner charger last year for my dual battery setup. One of the best upgrades yet and it has worked flawlessly.
3. I believe...
I've got the same hull. Trim tabs make all the difference in the world!
In reference to the aforementioned: you'll need a little tab when she's in the passenger seat, lots of tab when shes in your lap, and no tab if she's left on the dock.
I am actually originally from Jacksonville but prior to leaving for college I never had boat big enough to merrit custom aluminum so can't offer any recommendations. What part of town do you live in?
To find out how nice their stuff is just visit the shop, they should have enough tops lying...
Dropped off last Tuesday, got my boat back last Friday from Bluewater Towers in Boynton Beach, Fl.
I now have (5) tulip rod holders custom welded into pipework that incorperates welded-in pads for taco GS100 outrigger bases. There is no flex in this thing at all and no exposed fasteners...
Thats what I was expecting but I also spoke with Birdsall (they fabricate for Venture and Bahama Boatworks, extremely nice stuff) about doing a custom one with a couple tricks for about the same amount of $$.

I have a design in mind that incorperats outrigger base pads...
I can also personally vouch for the 208's capabilities.
I run out of Jupiter Inlet even in the winter which speaks for itself as far as seakeeping abilities. It is an great 3-man fishing/diving platform or 6-8 person sandbar shuttle more can be tolerated but it gets crowded.
Whichever boat...
