Many people here, myself included have had success with these. It really feels like a quality product and cheaper than oem. Do a search on this forum for more info. http://www.wemausa.com/index.htm

    Help! Choosing Between Boats

I wouldn't be comfortable with the potential repair bills for a 2004 evinrude with no warranty. Do both boats have a hardtop and comparable equipment? I drove about 1200 miles to get my Grady, a road trip like that makes for a great story. Assuming the Yamaha doesn't have the exhaust plate...

    268 hull bubble

The hatches of that era typically don't match the rest of the boat. Mine aren't nice either, they almost seem painted. Other threads mention the gelcoat used on hatches was inferior. With that lump in the hull I don't think it matters. Since its on the integral bracket it may be a sign of...

1997 Sailfish with twin Yamaha 225's

If the trim motor whines and moves slower than the other motor it may need fluid. usually by removing a bolt on the side of the trim cylinder. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamah ... parts.html the reservoir plug is part #57 if that helps to locate it. Good luck.

    2001 300 Marlin - any info appreciated

welcome aboard Paul. You can find a wealth of information with the "search" function. Most of the time someone has already spent the time to figure out an issue. Now all you need to do is ask and the replies usually fly in. Also if you call or email Grady customer service they treat you like you...

    Marlin 300 electrical issue

My boat has a whole panel of glass fuses in the cabin in addition to the breakers at the helm switch panel.

    Marlin 300 electrical issue

My boat has a small red dc circuit breaker reset button in the bilge near the batterys. if tripped it stops all power to the cabin and dash etc. maybe try that.

    Horizon 400 windlass

Here's the entire manual, page 9 is what you need. last time I thought my gypsy was shot it was only the 5mm allen key socket that needed tightened. the nylon gypsy is 2 halves and the loose bolt allowed them to separate and loose grip on the rode. Good luck...

Looking at buying my first boat. 1984 Seafarer

"He says it gets right up on plane" maybe his last boat was a trawler or perhaps a sailboat. Average money should get you an average boat. Even if that package suits your needs the price doesn't reflect the repower mistake. That money should get a better combo, keep lookin and good luck.

    break in process

Yes there is a very specific break in period. Remember the engine computers log all engine usage data. There's no fibbin to the warranty-man. On my last new f225 I dedicated my first day to what I believe was a 10hr cruise of varying rpms. Enjoy your new ride.

What is that drain plug for?

As stated above, leave plug in when in water to keep bilge water from wetting the bottom of that new tank. when boat is high and dry remove plug to be sure compartment is dry then replace plug. In the event of a tank or hose failure it would stop gas from being pumped overboard by bilge pump, or...

Opinions on 1996 Chase 02 power

I think yamaha has the oil injection figured out. No reason to disconnect it. you will use less oil and smoke less. Consider a survey, a lot can happen to a boat in 14 years. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Outboard Fresh Water Wash

My old 2 strokes always ran when tilted way up. At low tide I would travel an inlet with the water inlets barely submerged. On an older and smaller boat than I have now but the principle is the same. I would think its fine to do that on earmuffs.

Grady White - Safety and Bilge Access

Fortunately my boat has a little bit better access. I am still going to rig a large bilge pump with alligator clips for the battery connections and a length of large diameter hose. In the event of an emergency clip the leads to the battery drop the submersible pump in the water and start...

    basic question on basic maintenance

I would think the biggest concern would be the aluminum pipework. Treat with rupp alumaguard or woodywax. Rinse with copious amounts of fresh water. Once the aluminum pipework pits there's no getting the finish back. Especially between the top and frame and the tracks for the canvas. Remember...

    Sailfish 272 electric fuel primer

My carbureted 2 stroke yamahas would not start without using the primer. To manually prime I would have to open a hatch each time to get access to the fuel lines. I enjoy the electric primers and they also make handy fuel transfer pumps . It's always a bummer to service a seemingly unnecessary...

    1996 248 hardtop

Honestly if you want a hard top and this boat doesn't have one. It's not the boat for you. That's the reason those boats are usually a bargain. There's nothing like an oem hardtop. Keep looking and you'll find one with all the options you desire.
