    Sailfish 272 electric fuel primer

Just so you don't feel alone in your misery. I had no skin left on my knuckles and bruises across my chest and down the entire length of both arms. Sore for a week, no kiddin'

    Sailfish 272 electric fuel primer

I have had 2 fail but never with those symptoms. take both hoses off and temporarily insert a squeeze primer bulb. If the problem goes away the pump was leaking air. http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=78146F 6802 seems to be discontinued and replaced by frb-13-2. Hope this helps...

    Unknown plug on panel

I filled a trashcan with extra plugs, receptacles and wires from my boat. I had one that sounds like what you are describing. It was either part of an auto pilot or an auxiliary microphone. Maybe it was part of an old-school handheld spotlight. Either way it sleeps with the fishes now! I figure...

new 4 strk 200HP on '87 23' seafarer, keeping in wet slip??

My boat is a 92 and it's a labor of love. Make sure you love labor or have a fat wallet. It takes effort to keep a boat of this vintage ship shape. Don't forget thru hulls, gas tanks, fuel hoses, soft deck panels, and rotten bulkheads. Thru hulls, scuppers, hoses and double clamps are a must...

Ready to buy my new boat... but what? Input needed

Early and late in the season when the water is cold you may find a walkaround with a hardtop and enclosure is much more comfortable. I certainly do. If you do a lot of trolling you probably don't go forward of the center console often anyway. Let us know what you decide.

    Resolution of my 250

For water to be in the motor at the boatyard you would need to swamp your motor, then tow it in not running. Then allow your motor to rust and seize. Next take your rig to the mechanic full of rust and water. Or internal failure was leaking water into combustion chamber and it was burning off...

How many Grady owners carry spare props on board?

It's a spare engine for me also. Try to remove a piece of debris from your lower unit at sea. Then imagine changing a prop and not dropping at least 1 part overboard.

    Resolution of my 250

I think they should have blamed al-qaeda. The terrorists hate our outboards! Sometimes in a pinch I blame aliens. You can't prove it wasn't , right? Very glad to hear it's going to work out.

    powering a 204C

STOP!!!!!! google something like "blackbird outboard problem" or "Blackbird outboard complaint" I almost made a purchase and was sickened by what I dug up. You can read for hours on this one. Again, I have no personal experience with this guy. Just passing along what i found while researching a...

    powering a 204C

If it was taken in as a working trade, what was done to make the powerhead fresh. If you don't get a clear and concise answer, walk away. That is an easy question for a reputable person to answer. You will feel better asking now than later. I've heard a completely new yamaha 150 carb can be had...

4 Stroke Motor Winterized Should it Smoke when I start it

It's a "mystery" to me why they didn't use a marine fogging spray. Mixture of mystery oil and what? I think i would find out what they did and how they did it, then take my business elsewhere. Personally I fog the engine through the spark plug holes so the rings don't stick to the pistons or...

    canvas enclosure

I had a shop give an estimate to replace the clear windows in my canvas and it was more than that. I wouldn't have thought to call Grady. I got it done a little cheaper but I would have rather got all new. Oh well, next time.

    Grady 226 or HydraSports 2200vx

Seriously check out hydrasports current ownership. The company was just sold in bankruptcy. production is being moved to a new location. If your buying a leftover it was most likely not made by the current ownership. Something to think about for such a substantial purchase. after 5 years and...

twin engines, dual fuel tanks - how do you like to use them?

I use 1 tank until nearly empty, then switch to the other. This helps keep the fuel fresh. And as everyone else said it generally rides better with aft tank empty first.
