    2005 Kenwood KDC wiring question.

It's alive! Brought the old KDC-225MR into the 2020s for $17. Works great. Turns out the yellow is actually continuously providing power and the red only has power with the battery switch on.

    2005 Kenwood KDC wiring question.

Why? I almost never use the radio; the receiver was $16 - if it works; I don't have the time or interest to change out the entire audio system ( see point 1); my boat and radio spent most of its life indoors, so no corrosion. Juice ain't worth the squeeze for me. I'd be happier if it didn't have...

    2005 Kenwood KDC wiring question.

Thanks. That's what I suspected. I don't think the yellow is being used. I think the red is only energized when the batteries are turned on. I suppose I could grab my meter and check now that I know what the blue/white wire is.

    Cabin Rod Storage 270 islander

I have them, but I won't have an opportunity to get you photos and measurements till later in the week or next weekend. The 268s look similar, if not the same.

    2005 Kenwood KDC wiring question.

Thanks Hookup. Looks like the blue/white wire is for the remote as I had suspected. I get what you are saying on the wire taps. So the question still is, do I tap the red wire or the yellow? Based on the wiring diagram yellow would make the most sense, but considering there is already a tap on...

    2005 Kenwood KDC wiring question.

Im attempting to add a Bluetooth receiver to my old radio. The KDC wiring diagram shows: - Red is ignition - Yellow is power There is a second plug that has a blue and white wire that is labeled Grady White, a black, and a red. I'm thinking this has something to do with the wired remote, but...

    228 Seafarer to a 258 Journey?

Not exactly the same, but we had the 248 for 10 years moving from the 204. Night and day difference for rough water, ride, and stability. Above 4 footers on the 204, I would get a little nervous about catching a wave wrong and having water in the walk around. The 228 has more height in the bow...

    270 islander weight

No. Boat is 8400. Gross trailer weight is right at 10k lbs. 8400 boat + 1600 trailer.

Yes, water can go in there, especially when coming off plane.

    270 islander weight

I looked through my "archives." Unfortunately that data appears to be gone. As stated before, I determined the 5600 to be accurate and sized my trailer accordingly. My trailer capacity is 8400. If the boat is fully fueled (200g) and watered, with a hardtop, f150s, batteries, and 150 lbs of...

    270 islander weight

I need to do some digging to see if I can find the numbers. I weighed it because I needed the weight of the trailer for registration and I planned to buy a new trailer. I specifically remember the total for the boat being higher than I anticipated with f150s.

    270 islander weight

I thought the number GW published for 2005 was BS. It seemed too high, until I weighed mine. I think the nearly 5,600 lbs is legit. The question I'd like to know, are all if the earlier models really that light? I'm not one to be a conspiracy theorist, but I couldn't help but wonder if more...

    New digs for my Seafarer!!

That is a great buy in my opinion. Buy it for a discount for cosmetic reasons, but then have the option to update it to make it the way you want. I've done that with several houses, and they always sell fast for top dollar.

    New digs for my Seafarer!!

I've never questioned the investment I made in my detached garages. So many wish for it, so few actually do it. If done right, it makes a house sell quickly.

twin 17yr old yamaha 150s with olny 200hrs would you trust them???

Agreed. However, only the 3.3 liter Yamaha v6s can be checked for exhaust corrosion by dropping the lower unit. 4 cylinder 150-200s require pulling the power head. At 200 hours, I wouldn't sweat it. The vast majority don't have this issue and only the engineers at Yamaha for sure know why.

    Sign n glid

I don't live in Jersey, but have used it once for a 1.5 mile tow. No issues. I have not ever heard of a complaint on this forum or THT. I would think progressive has agreements with the big towing companies.

twin 17yr old yamaha 150s with olny 200hrs would you trust them???

I wouldn't be too worried about the seals. I would be concerned about corrosion. Specifically in the thermostat housings. Check it before you make any offers. It can be a deal breaker. The other item to consider updating at some point will be the counter balancers. You can read up on that one...

    Honda BF350 on Canyon 306

I'm curious. How do you know your fuel consumption will be 20% lower at that rpm? Depending on how bad you you want the 350s, you could counter balance the other end of the boat with sand or water in buckets that get removed before you head out.
