    New Freedom 215

If you have the digital steering, you may have digital controls, too. The “cruise control” is a rocker style switch below the trim/tilt switch on the shift/throttle lever. It raises or lowers your engine rpm by 50 rpm increments. At first I didn’t think much of it, but I find it useful in no...

    New Freedom 215

Not sure who Peter is.. We’re in Charleston, SC, so the harbor which is shallow and gets rough easy, endless rivers, the intracoastal up to Georgetown and down to Beaufort for overnight excursions. My third Grady. In 94 I ordered a 228 and bought a 2014 225 Freedom used. Owned a number...

    New Freedom 215

I ordered a 215 last year with dual deluxe II helm chairs instead of the port side lounger, F250 with DES. It suits our needs (day cruising with another couple or two). The rear seating layout is more comfortable than the folding benches and the cushion flip makes it versatile for boarding. The...

    Debby

Jim Cantore is here in Charleston…. noon news has the area I live in with over 11” of rain so far and this thing isn’t going anywhere for a few more days. Luckily, not too much wind although we had a pretty good blow last night and a few tornadoes south and north of here. Also, not much surge...

    New Switch Panel 228 Seafarer

I had an entire dash panel made by New Wire. This is a Freedom 225. The switches were originally in two rows on top of each other. I didn’t have to change the factory wiring for the new locations for the switches. I did have to relocate the module for the trim tabs so cabling could reach it’s...

    What trailer should I buy?

Need the weight. Quick search showed hull @ 5,300 lbs + motors + fuel + gear + accessories + trailer itself. My guess is you’re approaching 10,000 lbs., triple axle territory. For long term storage, bunks, assuming saltwater use, aluminum.

    SeaStar Steering Problem

I had a Sea Hunt that had a similar trait. Once you hit 4000 rpm it was difficult to steer to port and easy to starboard. Thats the nature of prop torque steer. There are solutions. Sea Star makes a booster pump. When I priced for that boat it was ~$3000 installed. I passed. There are also...

CL7 Freedom 235 engine display blinking fuel

Not sure if ours are identical displays, but under an “information” selection there’s another called “tanks” that will also give you a % of fuel in the tank. if you’re doing this underway or while the boat is rocking the reading is going to fluctuate due to the fuel moving around.

    Comparable pricing model

Relative to model year, boats manufactured this month through May of next year are 2025’s, so a 2023 is now a 2 year old boat. I don’t think that has a huge impact on value as automobiles do.

running transducer cable 2024 232 Gulfstream

On mine, a 215, I first opened up the console to see which tubes from the bilge fed the console. Mine had two tubes, both opening up in the console and I used the inboard tube. Ran the snake from the console to the bilge and pulled.the transducer cable plus a nylon pull rope so I wouldn’t need...
