    Fuel fill restriction

Slow filling sometimes indicates vent line clog. Check to be certain vent is clear of spider/bee nests.

    Help with a sale price

Well if I were you I'd take a lot of pics, and place some ads on craigslist, FB markekplace, and here and see if anyone is interested. These places are all free and maybe you'll find a nearby buyer. Be much easier if it had a trailer with it. Good luck with sale.

    Help with a sale price

That's why I asked location. At least you are in an area where someone interested could do repair right away. I'm across the state in Vero Beach. Some years back, I bought a 22' Grady Seafarer in Clearwater and replaced transom core. I also have a 232 Gulfstream with twin 150s now. Have you had...

    Help with a sale price

You should definitely be able to have transom re-cored for $6k in my opinion. What model Gulfstream do you have? There were 4 different models ion 1991.

    Help with a sale price

You'll need to post some pics of possible damaged areas of transom so we can see if complete transom needs replaced. Other than seeing it, check book price on boat and then deduct price of transom repair. Say roughly around 3-4 grand to have it done. Maybe more if bracket with twins needs...

Reduce to a single from twins

You do realize that you are considering removing two highly respected, proven, low hour motors, that have extremely more maneuverability over a big single, and will have to spend roughly somewhere in the $25-30,000+ range to have a single 300-350+hp engine/controls/etc. supplied and properly...

    Gulfstream fuel line problem

I've changed all fuel lines on a few different boats, including a late '80s 22 Seafarer I used to own. I was shocked at how bad the condition of the fill hose was once I removed it. You could slightly bend it and it would just crack open. What I did was to remove cockpit tank cover, and then...

    226 front bilge question

Check the rear bilge where tube from front bilge empties to see if maybe a plug is there. Some earlier models used to be set up like that, although I believe they were I/O models. There were two tube outlets with plugs, one for center fuel cell area, and the other for front bilge area. Can't...

damage on stringer bad or superficial?

Not sure if I would qualify that as "stringer" damage, although if that was a point of severe impact, there very well may be stringer damage. If you are considering buying this boat, do yourself a huge favor, and get a surveyor, or at least a very knowledgeable fiberglass boat/Grady White person...

1987 Sefarer 228 Engine Mounting Height?

General "rule of thumb" is that cavitation plate on lower unit above prop should be even with, or slightly higher than hull bottom directly in front of it. For each 1' engine is mounted away from transom, it should be raised 1". example- If engine is on bracket 2 ' back from transom, cavitation...

    HELP! Wet transom Help!! Please!!!!

Re: Wet transom Help!! Please!!!! I think you are at a point where you will have to use a water hose and an extra set of eyes to find how water is still entering your transom core.

    HELP! Wet transom Help!! Please!!!!

Re: Wet transom Help!! Is the bilge plug removed from boat, or is there a possibility that water is getting into bilge and entering transom core from inside. Is there a removable plate to get a look at interior transom around bilge area?

    HELP! Wet transom Help!! Please!!!!

Re: Wet transom Help!! If I am understanding you correctly, you drilled several 1/4" holes in lower outer transom and drained, and now after a rainstorm more water is draining from these drilled holes. If this is correct, and boat is on trailer during all this, I would suspect the scupper...

    Adding kicker motor

I recently added a kicker bracket to my 204 Fisherman CC boat. It is a Garelick 71094, and is a very strong, sturdy bracket. I purchased it used, and then did a search and found installation instructions from the manufacturer. I also relocated twin batteries from aft starboard corner, forward to...
