    Question on 1994 208 Adventure

I had a 2005 208 with a F200 and thought it was under powered. I currently have a 2003 208 with hardtop with 200 hpdi. It is the ideal power, light, fast, plenty of power. I feel that is what you should consider. It jumps out of the hole, Runs about 50 WOT, cruises low 30s at 4000rpm. I am...

Keeping the boat in the water for a month

Back in the early 90's I had a Welcraft V-20, good boat. I lived on Lake Murray SC and I heard that Desitin daiper rash creme would protect the boat bottom and would not be permanent like paint. On this lake you get a lot of algae growth and dirt on the bottom. I thought why not, this stuff is...

Top 50 Best Sport Fishing Boats Ever

Grady 1977 Kingfish is #12 http://www.saltwatersportsman.com/galle ... s-all-time Yes, we know the photo is of a 255 Sailfish, but the 1977 introduction of Grady-White’s 254 Kingfish launched that company’s entry into the big, wide-beam cuddy cabin market — a segment the company dominates to...

    windshield wipers

I was told by a Grady Parts man to go to a real truck stop and they will have the same type of commercial wipers because they are used on the big trucks. I haven't tried it but it sounds good.

    New Yamaha 200

With only 4 cyl and knowing how sluggish the old f200 was I can't help but think the hpdi will still run circles around this model. It can't have the torque and hole shot of the hpdi. I have owned the old F200 and now a Z200.

    Yamaha F200 4-Cylinder

Looks great for the smaller rigs. Less weight than a 200 HPDI with oil tank. http://www.fishhound.com/blog/yamaha-un ... troke-f200 http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/news/index.aspx?id=515943

how much gas in my tank ?

    2003 Yamaha 200 HPDI

I've got one on a 208. Ditto on everything Grouper Duper said but 4 strokes are only quieter at idle. At cruise they are the same db, Love mine.

    Rubber Trim Glue

I bought new trim also and I am using acetone to clean the old reside off. It takes a lot of elbow grease and I also use a "green scrubby pad" that is used for dished with the acetone to clean it off.

    Rubber Trim Glue

The problem I see is getting off the old tape/glue residue. I don't think the new glue will hold if you don't clean the trim and the gelcoat. That stuff is really stuck on and how do you clean the back of the trim? Thoughts?

    Just got a 2003 GW208....

Trim Tabs, I had a 208, F200, bimini. Trim tabs are a must. Mine porpoised badly if I didn't add a little tab. Now I have a 208, Z200 hpdi, Hardtop, don't need them as much but I sure wouldn't want to be without them.

208 with Yamaha F150 Outboard.. low power

I thought the F200 was underpowered on my 208. I now have a different 208 with a 200 hpdi. That hpdi has so much more power I can't describe how much better it is. I would think the F150 would be painful.

    Cruising around Georgetown, SC

I like pictures and see what people see when they are using their boats. Here is my cruise a couple of weeks ago in Winyah Bay and the ICW South of Georgetown, SC. I would like to know the story behind this boat: I don't think this owl is doing his job: Company in Jeremy Creek...

    what truck to buy?

I agree, it depends on how far you tow. I pulled my 208 with a Honda Ridgeline and it pulled it fine but got 8-9 mpg, with a 6 cyl. Now I use a Suburban and get 10-11. Not a heck of a difference. Most any truck with a decent engine that is rated for 5000 lbs will work.

    Peeling trim

With mine, it left the foam tape on the side of the cockpit and on the trim also when it came off. I thought the 3M tape would not hold it unless all the old foam tape was removed and also mine had shrunk causing it to peel off in the first place. It would have been real tough to get it off the...

    Gulfstream Rescue with my 209

The marina where my 208 is stored in dry stack always puts it on both to start it when they launch. I routinely start the engine on batt 1, then shut if off and switch to batt 2. I want to know both are OK.
