    Hullside Delamination,Wet Stringer

From your original post it sounds like you bought the boat knowing the delam. issue. The fact that Grady is willing to do anything on a 20 year old boat is a testament to their well known customer service. Kudos to Grady. It sounds like the rep was getting annoyed that he offered $3k and you...

Thanks for rubbing it in! You sound like my brother-he lives in Brandon.

    Season is over

So the boat season is officially over. Picked up the Gulstream after having it winterized and parked it in the back yard. Cleaned out some of the towels, sun screen (8 bottles!), crackers, etc. Getting it shrink wrapped next weekend. Had a great season. Out every weekend fishing (not very...

    Need A Cooler?

Boy is Yeti going to be pissed when they see how they copied their design!! Seriously it looks like a good quality unit with good reviews. Would love to see some competition for Yeti. Could never justify spending $200 for a cooler but $100? Sure. Planning on getting one in the Spring. BTW, check...

    232 question

I agree with Hammertime-something funny there. You've seen my numbers with a 225.

    232 question

I have a 2003 with a single 225. Love the boat and set up. Have had it out in 2-3' seas. Haven't taken it offshore yet, mostly fishing and cruising Gloucester to Marblehead. Can cruise comfortably at around 25 MPH with the bow trimmed down. Will hit 37 MPH in perfect conditions. Have had it...

Thanks Elyse. Looks like exactly what I'm looking for.

    Bump stops

Any idea on where I can buy replacement bump stops for the cabin door. They are the small rubber buttons held in place by a single screw. They have worn away and now the cabin door is just hitting the screws. I have a 2003 Gulfstream. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Trailer recommendation for Gulfstream

Sorry for the late response. My boat does have a hardtop, 5 lugs on the wheels.

    Fuel Tank Winter Storage

Based on my boat shop's advice. Leave them almost full to allow for expansion in the spring. Fuel stabilizer and you'll be OK.

    Trailer recommendation for Gulfstream

I have a 2003 Gulfstream on a Load Right bunk trailer. 2 axles, st215/7514 LRC tires, single 225 Yamaha. I have not weighed the boat but it handles fine on a couple of 70 mile trips to Winnipesauki. The brakes are surge type brakes which work fine. I did replace a broken brake line and installed...

    Anchor Roller

My 2003 Gulfstream does not have the bail. I've wondered the same thing before. For me it would be a pain with it as I sometimes have to maneuver the shackle through the opening as it's a bit too wide. I don't have a windlass and always store the anchor in the locker when cruising.

    help with docking my 208

Try this...go down to the dock in light wind and current conditions when no one is around and dock it several times. There is no magic pill other than what has already been said. It really is a matter of feel. Just one other "skill" I might add, learn to pivot the boat: backing up with engine...

How to Clean the Side Curtain Glass

I think what your canvas guy was referring to was to not use Windex on the curtains. Any product similar to that contains Ammonia and it will instantly turn your curtains cloudy. Plexus, P21-S are all good products that work well.

    Launching/Retrieving Gulfstream

I have towed my 03 Gulfstream (single 225) from Cape Cod to north of Boston and from north of Boston to Winnipesaukee using my son's Toyota Tundra with tow package. No problems at all. I did replace a broken brake line, disc brakes, repacked the bearings before the Winni trip but it handled...

It was all fun and games till my motor got stolen

:P Not sure about karma or the Man upstairs watching, but these a**holes did this because they don't have a life. They will do it again until they get caught. I always think the same thing when I read about something like this...what are they going to do next week for money? If they get away...

    help with docking my 208

Just read the book, 7 Steps to Successful Boat Docking. Good read. Your comment "hit reverse hard" makes me wonder you are using too much power. Two comments from the book that stand out: "90% of docking is accomplished in neutral" and "never go faster than you're willing to hit something with...

2000, 232, grady white gulfstream fishwell stopper plug

Check any well stocked hardware store (Ace, True Value). The section where they have those cardboard boxes of nuts & bolts, you'll find one with rubber plugs/stoppers. Grab a half dozen.

Yamaha ox66 250 HP WOT 4900 @35 MPH. Is this normal?

I have a 2003 Gulfstream. It is powered with a Yamaha 225. I've been a bit anal about getting the best trim/best speed combo. At WOT, trimmed up to about 4 on the trim gauge, she maxes out at 5500 RPM and 37.5 MPH. That's with full tanks, calm seas, and just myself onboard. I can't say what prop...

    33 Grady

Couple of questions on docking. Do you have twins or single, bow thruster? These obviously make the job a lot easier. The best advice I ever got was practice, practice, practice. Pick a calm day with no one beside you in your slip. Also-never go faster than your willing to hit the dock. I know...
