    What is this ?

Doesn't Australia close down the whole month of January for Christmas/summer holiday? Perfect time to come up here and pick up a winter bargain... :dance (Thinking of South Australia makes me thirsty for a nice Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale Shiraz... 8) I bought two boats remotely - it is...

    What is this ?

The trick to using the Nada site is to not select any options that are standard for your model. Only select the options you have that actually are options. To figure out what is an option vs what is standard, got to the Grady White site and download the catalog for the year you are looking at.

    What is this ?

I'm just trying to point out some potential pitfalls to our mate from Down Under. Folks around my way have boats shipped up from Florida all the time because their are lot to chose from and they are priced relatively low. On average, these boats have been used twice as much as the same year boat...

    What is this ?

G'day mate - it does work through the hull - as in drill a hole though the hull... 8) Note how the hull is molded specifically for transducer placement - there is space for one on each side. That is a beautiful boat with great options like the bow thruster. Price seems a bit high - how is...

    1990 Marlin with Suzuki DF250s

What is your wide-open-throttle RPM? And the WOT spec for that motor? That should tell you if it is propped right. My friend's 96 Marlin with 250 two-strokes does 1 MPG.

Marlin - many thanks and questions

Congrats on your new boat - you will love it. I was out in one yesterday and it handled some pretty sloppy conditions marvelously. I own a Sailfish which is the little sister to your Marlin. The Marlin I am the most familiar with is shown here: http://www.twocaptainscharters.com/wp-c ...

    Rod Riggers?

Hi - I had some nice stainless rod riggers but unfortunately had crew members accidentally drop both of them overboard on consecutive trips  I ended up replacing them with some Chinese-made inexpensive aluminum ones that I picked up on-line. I ordered them figuring I would return them...

need shower hose for head in cabin

It turns out the RV/marine hose I got from EBay is not the right thread. The shower head has some non-standard looking threads as seen in the photo and nothing at the hardware store or local RV supply matches them. Does anyone recognize this thread type? (You may have to click on the photo to...

    Help with 91' Sailfish 252G / SV2 Hull ?

I think 92 was the first year of SeaV2 on the Sailfish. I recall a bunch of THT discussion on this when I was researching and decided to hold off for a SeaV2. Try cutting and pasting the following line into Google: seaV2 hull sailfish site:www.thehulltruth.com

    Marlin Fish Box

Yes - it is a 275 qt fishbox with an overboard drain. On my Sailfish, I have a 260 qt on the starboard side and a 104 qt on the port side. I keep my fish in coolers and use my starboard box for general storage and my port box for storing my fenders after leaving the dock.

    Wicked cool photo...

Cool photo from the MSN website of an outboard-powered raft and its operator being dropped from a helicopter at a recent air show. I believe this is the Evinrude 55MFE Multi-fuel 55HP E-Tec which is "The First Multi-Fuel engine capable of running on heavy fuels such as JP4, 5, 8, JetA, JetB...

need shower hose for head in cabin

I ended up finding the hose I needed on Ebay for $14.88 http://www.ebay.com/itm/RV-Marine-60-Fl ... 68&vxp=mtr I haven't installed it yet but it looks like it will work. The interesting thing, however, is that it came in a package marked Amazon and it said "gift" on the outside of the package...

top speed 86 offshore24 with twins?

My 94 Sailfish with 200HO E-tecs does a bit better but these should be compared to 225HP motors. My performance plots are below and it topped out at 50MPH using my older 19" Viper props and 48MPH using my current 17" Rebel props: http://www.etecownersgroup.com/post/reb ... 1278837256

    Adding rod holders to 272?

I helped a buddy install some years ago and didn't do this this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvq1gYAUTJM My buddy is a perfectionist to a flaw. What he did was first drill a hole through a thick piece of wood at a 90 degree angle. I think it was a 4x4 or 6x6. Then he sliced the block...

    Marlin Macerator help

    Realistic 272 Sailfish Review

There is a negative review of a 97 Sailfish here http://www.onewolf.org/sailfish272.htm but I wonder if he exacerbated the potential problem (if there is one) by adding the custom tower with Rupp tower release outriggers on top of his hardtop. In addition to the weight and wind loading of the...
